My Mood: Points: 7,451.50 Bank: 9,591.47 Total Points: 17,042.97 | It's been almost a week... since I found out that I was going to miscarry this pregnancy. I don't even know how far along I really was. According to the first u/s, I was about 7 weeks. However, I think I may have been 2 weeks further than that but the pregnancy never went past 5 1/2 weeks.
I go for a followup appointment tomorrow, and will probably have to have a d&c on Thursday. Since I stopped taking the prometrium on Tuesday, I've only had heavy spotting and a few incidents of light bleeding. I haven't had any cramps at all.
It took us over 2 1/2 years to get pg the first time, and it was a surprise. We had moved on and were in the process of becoming foster parents. Now everything is on hold while we figure out what to do next.

It's been six months since Rivi died, and I STILL don't know what to do? Risk another pregnancy? Give up the thought of having biological children? I'm in no shape to answer those questions yet, so I'm putting them off.
Take your time deciding what to do. When the time's right, you'll know it.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you find out? I haven't had any bleeding or anything. In fact I feel as pregnant as I had for the last several weeks, which is such torture. Hope you start to heal soon as well.

My Mood: Points: 7,451.50 Bank: 9,591.47 Total Points: 17,042.97 | Leah - I found out at my 2nd u/s last week. I was probably somewhere between 7 and 9 weeks along (don't know when I o'ed). However, the u/s showed I never progressed past about 5 1/2 weeks. I had spotting all through the pregnancy but was diagnosed with low progesterone. I was on prometrium which helped some. I didn't "feel" pregnant anymore starting about a week before the 2nd u/s but still hoped that everything would be okay. I hope you can heal soon too. Waiting to m/c is torture.
Viv - I'm sorry about your loss as well. Thank you. I guess we'll figure out what to do next when we're ready.

I'm so sorry to hear of your losses, my heart goes out to you and I wish you all the strength to get through this difficult time.
I drifted across from the Pregnancy board today as it's 3 years since my first loss so obviously it has been on my mind, the pain never goes away.
I hope to see you both sometime in the future on the pregnancy board with news of your miracle, although it's 6 months now I won't believe mine until he/she is born.
Hugs & strength to you both,
Jacqueline.

I know that a D&C can be very emotionally draining, but it was much easier on me than having to m/c the second one at home. Please let us know how everything goes.
It is hard after having a loss to decide what to do. As you know, I chose to try again, even after the 2nd one in only 3 months. Whatever you decide will be the right thing for you. Just don't rush into anything. What is Dr. Kennedy suggesting that you do next? |

My Mood: Points: 7,451.50 Bank: 9,591.47 Total Points: 17,042.97 | Thanks everyone. The d&c went well yesterday and I feel like I'm healing physically pretty quickly. I think I'm ready to be able to try again. I haven't charted in a long time but I'm thinking of trying it again to see if I can tell if/when I ovulate. I hope my body regulates pretty quickly.

I think it was easier for me to have something to occupy my mind, rather than sitting around. I hope it works that way for you too, and I hope to see things looking up for you soon. (((Big Hugs))) |
