The past few weeks have been difficult ones. DH was involved in a motorcycle accident on 8/5 and we spend five days in the trauma center of our local hospital. Since his discharge, we've been living with my in-laws because their home is handicap accessible. Well, DH is the youngest of 7 children so Mom is a tad bit overbearing when it comes to caring for her "baby". DH has a broken foot, broken leg, 12 inch laceration on his right forearm and a "glove" wound on his right upper arm/shoulder (glove wound means that most of the skin is in tact but the muscle and soft tissue below isn't). I've been playing nurse for the past week. I've literally been exhausted...I get up at 4:30 to bathe and dress DH, unpack and pack his glove wound, change the bandages on his forearm, give him a shot in the stomach (blood thinners to prevent clots while he's unable to move about), and finally get myself ready to go to work. My in-laws are both retired so they stay with DH during the day. DH is slowly healing, but has a long road of healing and physical therapy ahead of him. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
