Since at least when I was a teen and started shaving under my arms I have always had horrid AN there. I was dressing this morning and caught my reflection in the mirror. It's fading! After 5 years on a lower carb diet (as of this month) and a year or so on Met. and 4 days on cinnamon pills my underarms are starting to look normal!!! The funny thing is I saw a commercial on TV this week for a beauty product and I was near tears seeing how normal underarms look. All I could think was, "I will never look like that." Now, I'm 1/2 way there!!!
Congrats...once I started taking met I noticed a great deal of change with my AN. I had it under my arms, between my breasts, my inner thighs and of course the "dirty neck". Now I only have AN on my inner thighs and I'm ok with that. It was a wonderful feeling to see them disappear.

I started met about two months ago and I am seeing my AN fade also. What a relief. My mom says that mine turned so fast when I was in my early teens that I actually took 3 showers a day to try and clean myself up.

Only 2 weeks till the end of the Christmas Challenge!
I only had one on the back of my neck and changed my diet to low carb etc right after I/my daughter discovered it....a month later it was much lighter and other changes were noticeable too, like a more normal period, less acne etc. ....but I'm still having some sugar issues.....if I eat anything sugary, I get reactive hypoglycemic attacks....I wish I knew if I should be on Met or not, but the darn clinic I went to is only looking at 'numbers' and not patterns etc. ...my OGTT (3 hr) never went above 135, but it peaked at two hrs, not one and dropped like a rock in the third, and kept going when I went home, which shows reactive hypoglycemia and therefore likely IR, but they won't DX unless it goes above 140. The stupid thing is, I'd been on the low carb diet for nearly a month of my own volition, incl. the days before the test, and that may have made it stay under the limit...a whole 5 points under.
I think I had AN between my thighs earlier, but it faded on its own....not sure why.

So few doctors want to look at the symptoms other than the tests. It's so frustrating. My DH has AN and other IR symptoms. He has just started cinnamon pills, and he is going in for a checkup with a new doc. I hope she takes his IR seriously. She put him on cholesterol and blood pressure meds after 2 other doctors wouldn't.
I'm starting taking chromium picolinate, vanadyle sulfate and B-50, which includes biotin and other B's that are suposed to be good for insulin resistance....so we'll see what it does for me. I just wanted to get a baseline without them before I started...so I had something to compare it. flax seed is also supposed to be helpful, but it's on my allergy list.

When I told my chiropractor about my suspicion that I have IR, she put me on a supplement that has chromium picolinate, vanadyl sulfate, adn a whole bunch of B vitamins...I'm actually holding off for the same reason you said, I want a baseline from an endo before I start them. Plus if they do improve everything I don't want to get blown off as not having IR if I really do!
And I'm already supposed to be taking flax seed oil but I keep forgetting it because it is refrigerated, not sitting with the rest of my vitamins. My brain just can't handle remembering to look two places in the morning! LOL
