Question ?s on IVF

Hey Everyone!
I was curious if anyone has tried IVF??? Me and my hubby have been TTC for about 2 and a half years. The doctors have now recommended that we try In Vitro so we are debating between IVF and adoption I know that I looked into it around here which is in Iowa and im finding that it is about $15000. im just curious what other people have seen for prices because I had a friend tell me they knew someone who had it dont for $8000. I was just wondering what other people expierences have been with it and about the cost that they have seen. Any and all info would be great!! Thank you!!!

Mine was covered by insurance but the self pay would have been about $11,000 (meds not included). I think I've seen most people pay between 10-12k. Good luck!

Mine cost about 12k with meds. But I do have a friend that did mini stem IVF and it cost half of that, might be an option for you to check into.

Well I'm gearing up for IVF #3 it's going to cost $15,000. That's $10,000 for the procedure and $5,000 for meds. Plus there's the other pre-cycling testing I need to get done. I have to get an saline ultrasound for the tune of $800 then lab work. I'm going to try to get my regular doctor to do labs on me for the other stuff. My first IVF was a bust but my second cost me around $20,000 and now I have a wonderful 3 year old. This is my last IVF though positive or negative I can't mortgage the house again! Good Luck

In my area the IVF cycle costs around $6-7K, and then meds on top of that (cost depends on how much you need). I spent a total of about $9K for the whole thing. It worked for us first try so I'm a big believer in it. And it wasn't nearly as stressful as I had feared. It's pretty similar to a plain injectable cycle if you've ever done that, just with the extra egg retrieval procedure. Any specific questions, ask away!

After soy, Femara, Follistim, an ectopic pregnancy, and IVF, FINALLY BFP 8/08 -- twins -- but lost baby B somewhere between 6 and 8 weeks. Hoping for a healthy singleton birth...

Mine costs $5000 for the procedure, plus $1500 for ICSI.
I'm estimating that the meds will cost $3000, but don't know for sure yet.
There's a cyster on SC who lives in Mexico, and has said a lot of positive things about her clinic (and it's all a lot cheaper, she says). Just an idea!
