Default It's sure nice to know that I am not alone

Hello all my name in Laura Johnson and I just found this site today. My husband, Jeremy, and I have been together for 10 years and married for 5 of that. We have always loved the idea of having a family so much that when we were dating we seldom ever had protected sex, secretly hoping that if it were meant to happen that it would. I know to some that is very irresponsible, the unprotected sex part, but from day one my husband and I knew that we would spend the rest of our lives together. Anyways... after several years of not becoming pregnant we finally went to a doctor. My husband was checked out first and all was well with him. Then it was my turn, all the blood tests, urine tests and sonograms got us several "You're fine" from the doctor. Knowing that all was not okay we continued on our journey. Finally after 2 years of seeing doctor after doctor time after time and being told " You're Fine" we went to a fertility specialist. He is the one that diagnosed us with PCOS. At that time I had 4 on my left and 2 on my right he put me on clomid and birthcontrol for about 6 months and at that time we went back in for another sonogram and were very pleased to find out that there was no signs of any cysts at all! At last we could begin trying to conceive. And we did we quit taking the birthcontrol and started the basal body temp testing. We were pregnant in the first cycle!!!! Oh what joy, after trying and crying for so many years at last our dreams and prayers were answered. We found out at 3 1/2 weeks via day 21 testing that we were pregnant, and got to hear the heartbeat a week later thru and enternal untrasound. It was the best sound that I have ever heard!! However saddly we lost our baby 6 1/2 weeks later for reasons unknown. It has truely been the hardest thing to ever go thru. That has been 2 almost 3 years ago, and now after many sleepless nights wondering if we should try again or not, if you have ever had a miscarriage you understand, we have decided to start once again. However this time we do not want to take any fertility drugs. So back to the doctors we go....Only to find out that my cysts are back and worse then they were before. This time the doctor put me on metformin, spironolacton, and levlan birthcontrol. We are in our 4th cycle with this regimin and after 6 to 8 we plan to have another sonogram to check the cyst situation and hopefully beging conceiving again. I am so happy to have a place that I can share all this with and hopefully be able to make new cysters! Please feel free to email me and let me know your story as well I would love to add you to our prayer list!

I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I am also a new cyster. I have been reading the website since I was diagnosed, but haven't actually posted anything till now. I myself have always known something wasn't right with me and fertility issues. I also had a boyfriend that after a while, we quit using protection and just figured if it happened, then that would be fine. It never did for me either and we are no longer together. I am currently single and not trying to conceive, but at almost 32 years old, I would sure like to get all this taken care of by the time I do meet someone and want to try. I have been on the Metformin since last summer and didn't really notice anything till I started taking the adipex. Since then, they weight has been coming off pretty steadily without even working that hard. I don't know if you have any weight to lose, but from everything I hear, your weight and insulin is going to be the biggest hurdle when trying to conceive and have a successful pregnancy. I wish you lots of luck and hope it works out for you this time.

Thanks for the support clogle we can use all that we can get right now. I have struggled with the weight issue all my life that is why I am hoping that the metformin will help with that. However I have been taking it for 3 months and have not dropped a pound and suggestions. I do not eat fast food, 1 can of soda a day the rest of the time it is water or juice. I'll try anything!

Sorry it had taken so long to get back to you. I didn't lose that much weight the 1st few mos I started taking the Met. My doc started me out with a really low dose and worked me up to 2000mg a day. I started having the nausea and stomach cramps, so she changed me to the XR back in Jan, which is about the time I started the adipex also. I still have a few problems with nausea, but I'm not sure if it is still the Met or not. I feel like I'm taking so many pills right now that it could be anything. I haven't changed the way I eat and still seem to be losing the weight, so I really think if you just give it some time with the Met and make sure you are taking enough mg each day, then you will start to notice some good changes. I've been trying to work out, but I work F/T and also go to school F/T and just seem to get pretty lazy when I have any free time. Hopefully you will have better luck with that than I have....
