LOL! Ok, just a little bit about myself...
I am 22 & married to a wonderful man. We do not have any children, but would love to add a few to our family!  We've been ttc since before we were married (05March04).
I have recently been diagnosed with IR. My doctor wants to do an ultrasound to make sure I don't have any cysts or blockages, but I haven't heard anything back about that. Maybe I should call, huh?
My periods are very, very irregular. I just recenly went 6 months with out having one. Aug 7, 2006 I was given a 10-day script for Medroxyprogesterone. Took said medicine for 10 days which resulted in a horrid 10-day period. That was 43 days ago and I have yet to see the beginning of my next cycle.
Since starting on Met last month I've managed to lose close to 10lbs. It has been making me incredibly sick, but it's definitely worth it if this all results in a baby for Hubby and me!!
I've been having issues trying to get my diet right...and I've been trying to exercise at least 3 times a week!
I hope through all of this I can FINALLY lose some of this extra weight to have a healthy pregnancy -- that is if it's ever my turn to have a baby!!!!
If that doesn't work...Doctor said he's going to have us try Clomid.

and that is what has messed up my body. I am on the medicine Metformin and hopefully it will enabled my body to get my insulin, weight, and periods under control! Join me through my ups and downs & eventually to weightloss success!

Welcome cyster!
I hope the met works wonders for you! It certainly did for me! (I got pg on 1500 mg met!) You may have already tried this but for the side effects, I found that if I took the met right in the middle of my meal (not just "with food" but right in the middle!) that helped a lot. Also lowering my carbs, and gradually working up to my 1500 dose. Hope this helps.
You are doing great with your exercise. You may be interested in the IR diet, the cysters over at the diet/exercise forum can give you lots of info on that if you want.

Oh! That's definitely encouraging that you got pg on 1500mg of Met!!!!  Hehe!!!
I'm going to start lowering my carbs just to see if it'll work better for my body. I've been looking at the IR diet stuff, but it just seems so confusing! LOL
My doctor did ease me into the Metformin. I started at 500mg/day for 2 weeks, then to 1000mg/day for 2 weeks and now I'm at 1500mg/day. I am definitely glad that my Doc didn't make me start taking 1500 all at one whack!!! That would have been awful.
My step-dad(he's diabetic) was on Glucophage (same thing I know! lol) a few years back, but his doctor didn't ease him into it...He made him take the full dose right off the bat! He managed to lose about 35 or so pounds, but it was a horrible process!!!!
Anywhoo -- I seem to be rambling.

I too got pregnant on Metformin!
I was TTC for over 14 years when I was introduced to Met. and within 2 months I had lost 20 lbs. and was pregnant with my first.
We now have 2 beautiful little girls.
