Everything is going well in my life. I have great grades this quarter, I have a wonderful boyfriend who I am going to a concert with this weekend, money is alright, and a spring break trip to Chicago is coming up. Yet, all day I have felt so emotionless (except for sad) and on the verge of tears... I have no idea where this came from. I've never been depressed before. What is going on?

One of the tricky things about Clinical Depression is that it can be what is known as "mood incongruent". In other words, you have every reason to be happy, but you just aren't. That can be one thing that seperates Clinical Depression from Situational Depression, where just about anyone would be depressed in that person's situation (grief, loss of job, etc.).
Many people experience their first episode of Clinical Depression around your age (I was a bit young at 16) and it can be very confusing, especially since it seems to come out of the blue. Your best chance for recovery and possibly never having another episode in your life is to immediately have it treated. Or it could be something totally different, like a hormonal issue. For these reasons you should see your doctor as soon as you can. They'll be able to find a way to help find the cause and just what to do about it.
I hope you feel better soon! That apathetic feeling is the pits

I agree that you should see your doctor. In the meantime, make a list of your sleeping habits, and what you're eating on a regular basis.
For me, a low fat diet, that is high in starchy carb, ALWAYS triggers depression for me. HORRIBLE depression. To get out of it, I have to take fish oil, and cut out starcy carbs. (It took me years to figure out my diet/mood connection.)
That said, you need to find out what's going on with YOU. Get to the MD.
{{{hugs}}} feel better soon!

I agree as well with seeing a Dr. I started getting anxiety/panic attacks out of no where and they were happening when yes I was stressed but its a good time in my life and would have thought they would have came before in my life when that part of my life was harder and I was not as happy. I know its not exactly the same thing but wanted to let you know I thought it was odd that my panic attacks came out of no where at a time when I thought
I could relax and be happy the most. Hope I make some sense and Hugs
