Unhappy Sad, Scared Newbie...

Hi,
Im Tina, and Im hoping that this board can help me. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS after TTCing for 2 years. Im pretty young, and have alot of questions. Im terrified that I will Never have a child. I am on metformin, and have a million questions for that too. I am mostly here for answers, and maybe to find some hope and support. Right now, Im mostly heartbroken. I am severely obese, and have tried everything to lose the weight. My self esteem is at an all time low. Are there women who have gotten pregnant on metformin? I just have so many questions!

Don't be scared or over whelmed there are a BUNCH of women on here and we are all here to help.. I was on Metformin for about 6 months Starting Jan 2009 to about June 2009.. My dr gave me 4 months to ttc on my own then she added in Clomid 50mg and within two month of that I got pregnant with twins.. I was also freaked out by the whole PCOS thing and theres many ways to beat it you just have to sit down and talk to your dr about the approach you want to take with it and go for it.. I wanted something aggressive because I too am young and I wanted to try and get Pregnant as soon as possible(You have a better chance of concieving at a younger age) so we set up a plan and I got Pg within 6 months.. So please don't worry yourself to death there are option and still many chances for you to get Pg you just have to figure out whats right for you and your situation..

Try not to freak out too much. It's difficult sometimes when you are trying to really focus on having a child. Right now try to focus on eating right, taking your meds, exercising to loose the weight, and as you loose the weight your hormones should start to level out. Mine did, anyway. I didn't want to use fert. meds so I was very strict with my diet and taking my meds and exercising every day. I lost 20 lbs and starting to see my cycles become somewhat regular, then noticed ovulation signs. We now have a two year old daughter--so it is possible!

Hi Wrightswifey!

My god-sister was diagnosed with PCOS. She had been TTC for a year and a half. Her doctor gave her Met. and she joined Weight Watchers in December 07 and lost 70 in 8 months. In August 08 she became pregnant. She thinks it was the weight loss that did it. She said the program was the only thing that helped her lose weight.
God bless u on your journey.
