Are you IR or diabetic?
If you are IR, you may not need such a high dose of the Chromium. My naturopath said to start out with the 200mcg with breakfast and see how I do. After a couple weeks I wasn't feeling any difference so I added 200mcg with lunch. After a couple weeks I noticed a slight difference, but I still had the cravings, so I added 200mcg with dinner ... you can see where I'm going here.
For more information on the different kinds of Chromium, check out this web site: http://www.mendosa.com/chromium.htm
Thanks! And yes...I'm Type II diabetic and hypothyroid. My levels have been TERRIBLY high...It may be stress but I can't seem to lower it with 35 Units of Lantus 2x. I was put on BCP's for two months to have a surgery and they made me gain weight again and the depression and diabetes is worse. I should have never have taken that pill! I was starting to lose a ton of weight and on a good role before. All the dr. wanted to do was fix a bicornuate uterus.
Is it safe to use with Diabetes?? Are you saying just try taking 200 and keep adding after a couple of weeks?? Which do you think would be good for a Diabetic and hypothoyroidism...I realise your not a dr....but I'm desperate to find the right vitamins and minerals to help. Is magnesium safe to take with Chromium??
Where are you getting your vitamins from?? Any specific brand??

If you are actually Diabetic, then you will probably need to start with more than 200 mcg a day. Maybe you can find some Chromium that comes in 500mcg and try that.
I believe that magnesium is safe to take with Chromium, as my naturopath told me to start taking Chromium (as described in earlier post) and I was taking a Calcium & Magneisum supplement as well.
My naturopath also said that Chromium is safe to take up to 2500mcgs a day (some Type II Diabetics are taking that much).
Is there a Naturopath in your area? I find mine to be very helpful.
If not, then maybe you could ask someone at your health store about taking Chromium & Magnesium together.
HTH.
