I was wondering if it is safe to stop Met cold turkey. I have started seeing a dr who practices nutritional medicine and she has put me on some things that should help level out my blood sugar and she says I should not need Met and that I can just stop taking it if I want. Does anyone know if it is safe to just stop taking it? I was just kind of wanting a 2nd opinion and to see if anyone else has stopped taking it cold turkey. TIA.

Met is not the type of drug that needs tapering when you discontinue it, so yes it is safe to stop it cold turkey. Good luck with your alternative approaches!

I agree with Linda, you can stop in at any time. I started met back in february and a couple months ago, I just stopped taking it because I couldnt handle the nasty side effects it was causing and I just recently got back on it.

Yes, my doctor told me I can stop cold turkey with no problem. I'm considering it, actually..
What kind of alternatives has your nutritionist suggested? I'll really prefer a more natural method to treat myself. I am not happy with Met anymore, and would love advice. Thanks.
I am taking a lot of vitamins and supplements right now for various different problems but what I am taking in place of Met is called GlucoBalance and another one called VanaPhage. They are both supposed to help with blood sugar regulation.
