i'm glad you are with someone who makes more sense. grief involves letting the emotion flow and be dealt with, not watering it down. i was told by a grief counsellor that if you don't deal with the pain now, it is simply postponed for another time. it doesn't just disappear. for some of us with mood/emotional issues on top of grief, meds can keep things within a bearable range and are very helpful. upping the dose with each bad event in life isn't the answer i would want either.
