I have had trouble with my facial hair for about 5 years now. I tried saw palmetto and it has really helped. I know that they say it is for men. That is because it is generally used for prostate problems. The benefit it has for us is that it helps to lower testerone levels. This is why it is used for prostate problems. You should try it. Not only has it help to get rid of my facial hair but the hair on my head is growing like a weed! How strange is that!

This is the first time i've ever heard someone say that Saw Palmetto has helped them. How much and what brand are you taking? Are you taking anything else?
I just started taking two 160mg pills 10 days ago due to Indiangirl's experience.
So far it seems my scalp hair is shedding more and itching more!
Anyway, I will stick with this for a while.
I wonder if some of these users' are actually experiencing positive results as a result of Spiro's effects finally kicking in after a few months rather than Saw Palmetto?
I do no take Spiro by the way.

I have been taken Saw Palmetto for about 2 months now, and it has really helped the head hair. I'm taking 160 mg, standardized, twice a day.
I have been on Spiro for almost 4 years now. The Spiro had helped my acne and hirsutism, but it didn't help the hair on my head. I would get so depressed seeing my part widening and the hairs falling everyday. But I'm so happy that the SP is helping the hair shedding.
I would just say give it a whirl, but listen to your body. If you feel like your body is not reacting well, give it a few weeks and then go OFF it. Nobody knows your body like you do.
Tembo, the only thing I'd say is that sometimes, when you take something that will HELP the hair, you actually go through a mini-shed at first. Your hair follicles are being "activated" since the Test. and DHT levels are decreasing. This would start about 1-2 wks after you first start taking it, and should END at some point (after a few wks I suppose).
