Saw Palmetto = AF every day for a month? Okay, so I was taking Saw Palmetto faithfully during the month of October, and while I was on it, I bled lightly every day. The first day or two were very heavy, and then it was just light but constant. Also, I felt very tired all the time. Anyone else have this problem?
Since I haven't been *officially* diagnosed with PCOS (but have all the big symptoms: hirsutism, irregular and absent periods, apple-shaped weight probs, skin tags, etc) I then decided maybe I shouldn't be taking it or anything. So after a month, I stopped taking SP.
However, I am pretty darn sure I have PCOS (and it seems, also, that I am more than likely IR.) I don't currently have any insurance, so it looks like an official dx is in the distant future. But I want to feel like I"m doing something to help myself right now. I've been trying to eat more based on the Insulin Resistance Diet (and it makes me physically feel a lot better when I do) and I am considering starting the Saw Palmetto again, regardless of the weird side effects.
What do you all think?
