Hi,
I was taking saw palmetto to help with excess body hair and was starting to think I could see a slight difference in the growth. I then stopped taking it as I was starting Yasmin bcp. What I would like to know is does anyone have any information as to whether it is ok to take saw palmetto along with bcps? I wasn't sure if the saw palmetto would prevent the pill from working properly?

When i asked my doctor about it she said that i cannot take saw palmetto with birth control pills because they will not be effective anymore.Saw palmetto is a powerful little herb.Even my pharmacist said that her book on interactions clearly states that it will cause that bcp to lose effectiveness.
