Question Saw Palmetto and Birth defects?

Hello Cysters,
I could really use some info here. DH and I have decided to TTC! Have been using saw palmetto for past year. In my research it has just come to my attention that saw palmetto may act just like PROPECIA in our bodies, and cause deformities in a male fetus..... My question, is how long will it take to clear saw palmetto safely out of my system?? I have just stopped taking it and this is the perfect month to try to conceive, to scared to even try now. I have been using dandelion/milk thistle this month for liver cleanse.... anyone with an answer??????????

Its me again
I just received word from a ND that saw palmetto shouldn't cause any deformities in a male fetus, in fact it is used in some womens regimen to try and conceive. I noticed several people had read my previous post, without answering, so I wanted to get this information out as soon as I got it. Like we don't have enough to worry about!

Default saw palmetto

Hi Duchess,
Do you use saw palmetto for excess hair?
If so you mentioned that you had used it for a year did it
work. I'm now on aldactone but I'm scared about the risk of
hyperkalemia(high potassium).
Thanks Lisa

I have been using it to try and block extra testosterone from my system, I have balding on top front hairline. I don't have a great deal of excess hair. I have stopped taking it last couple weeks while ttc, to be safe.
