Saw Palmetto, does it work?

For those of you who have tried saw palmetto, does it work? I really would like to regrow the hair on my head without increasing the hair elsewhere and I heard it might be an option.

I have been using it to slow down the hair on my chin area. It seems to make that regrowth slower...but I am not sure if I have grown hair on my head from it

It mimics the effects of estrogen in a very mild way. It's unlikely to make matters worse, but if your androgen levels are high it's unlikely to have a dramatic effect, though if your androgen levels aren't too elevated it may make a discernible difference.
