Hi, this is what I have found in my research. It can be used as a topical treatment. This was the Standarized SP Oil, that comes in a bottle and must be refrigerated after opening. But you could try the kind in the soft gels they may work just as well.
Women's health - combine topical applications of the oil extract with the use as a dietary supplement . As a dietary supplements use 1 teaspoons per day, to improve the taste mix 1 part of Rose hip oil with two parts of Saw Palmetto oil. As a topical treatment - apply to target areas and around, massage in. Repeat applications daily, preferably in the morning and in the evening.
OK- I tried it. I have a really bad cold and can't smell a darn thing...BUT I could smell the SP and it was foul! So this isnt something I'd recommend putting on right before a hot date! I will try it topically when I don't have anywhere else to be.

You might want to try to find the oil that comes in a bottle or the ointment. I'm not sure where you can find them locally, but there are a few places on the web where you can order them. I'll do a search tomorrow and post a few places.
What a coincidence that you started this thread! I just started using SP topically last Friday, so I have no idea if it works or not. I had bought a bottle of the liquid SP because someone mentioned they had better results with the liquid than the capsules. But it tastes awful and I just can't get it down. So I figured since I had it around anyway I'd try to find a use for it. The smell is horrendous (the oil may be better though, I have no idea), so I've been putting it on at night before bed. I'll let you know if I see any results.

So far this is the only place I've found that has the ointment and butter besides the oil. I've never used them so I can't recommend them. If anyone tries them let us know how it goes.
