Default Scalp itching hair falling out in patches!

My scalp itches really bad sometimes, and I am starting to notice hair loss along with the itching! Has anyone else experienced this? I am so embarrassed to come outside now and days. I am doing a comb over now, but I am afraid that this won't last. I would get extensions, or a good wig but they are too expensive for me to afford right now. I am only in my tweenties, and this will be the third time that my hair has fallen out. I do not wan't to get another "boy cut",I am confused and deeply sadened by my condition.

When you say patches is this smooth round completley BALD patches ? if so thats not from PCOS ... if you have shedding of hairs and itchiness which I do then its alopecia due to the androgen excess in PCOS ... I have extensions and wigs these days are not that expensive I can point you in the right direction if you PM me

Yes it is falling out in patches, that are not completely bald. My hair looks like it has been cut in various areas. The reason, I say it is "expensive" is because,I am going through a divorce, I am a full time student and work part time. My husbands income was 70% of my total income, he paid most of the bills. I don't even have money for summer clothes, maybe in the future.

Have you seen a Dr.? There are many effective treatments for hairloss...... checkout www.hormonehelpny.com for a lot of answers to questions about female hairloss and what you can possibly do.

OH and.... if it turns out you are experiencing alopecia areata (bald spots in patches versus all over diffuse shedding) that is not hormone related.....it is thought to be an autoimmune disorder that is not very well understood; however cortisone injections in the scalp have shown to be of benefit ......
