The nurse from my OB's office called to say pathology on my D&C came out benign. Good news! However, she read the doctor's notes saying they found and removed a lot of scar tissue. But then she couldn't tell me what caused it and what it means. I asked her to ask the doctor and call me back and let me know. I'm concerned. Has anyone else had this? Or know what could cause it? Could it simply be from the m/c? Does it mean bad things? Criminy. Why can't they have the information when they call in the first place?

minnesoota, great news to find out the pathology report came back benign. I am not sure about the scar tissue, but maybe since the doctor was able to remove a lot of it you will be all ready to go for next time!! Good luck and keep us posted, I will be interested to see what they say.
Thanks Jen! Now I'm just waiting to hear back from the nurse. So annoying when they aren't prepared!

Yeah, you can't just call someone and tell them something like that without knowing what you are talking about. I am thinking about you, please keep us updated!
Jen,
Got the call back that the scar is from my m/c and that it shouldn't affect anything in the future. Yipppeee! Thanks for your concern!

Glad to hear that the scar tissue shouldn't affect anything in the future, but I am familiar with people that call with incomplete information. So incredibly frustrating. Sorry that you had to go through that.

I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I also had scar tissue after a (2nd trimester) miscarriage but it was caused by the D&C done shortly after delivery (it wasn't discovered during the D&C but when I had an SHG done in prep for a fertility cycle). I feel like my situation is different from yours....however, just in case the scarring was CAUSED by a D&C, I would make sure that they do an SHG just to make sure the scar tissue doesn't grow back.
I had a hysteroscopy to remove my scar tissue, was on estrogen for 30 days, then had an SHG done to reveal that the scar tissue did not grow back.
I may be way off on what your situation is, but just in case I wanted to share my situation.
Thank you Myrtle. I will keep that in mind. I think in my case it probably was the M/C that caused the scarring, since I haven't had a prior D&C. But I appreciate your concern and I will definitely watch out for that. I don't want anything to get in the way of conceiving in addition to the PCOS!
