Default Scared!!

First of all hello to everyone.

My name is Sarah I am 24. I have been married for 5 years and have been ttc the whole time. I was diagnosed with pcos in 2001 when we got married. I have taken clomid about 10 times maybe more I can't remember. I do O on it. I have been taking met er 1500mg/day for 2 years and I have lost almost 50 lbs. I weigh about 140 now. I O and have regular cycles (30-36 days). But I am still not getting pregnant.

On to my problem, I was wondering if anyone would know what my DR's next plan of action might be? I know that I am going to have a HSG and my husband a SA, but other than that I don't know what to expect, What kind of medications is he going to want me to take and how much will it all cost.

I haven't been to the dr in 2 years, because of not having any insurance. But now I have a good job with Great insurance, but I still live in Missouri and they do not require insurance companies to cover infertility so all treatment is going to have to be out of pocket which scares me to death.

TIA!!

Sarah

Have you thought about calling out of state and seeing if anyone in your "area" will take the insurance you have? I would try and see what you get. Good luck.

No not really. Thanks for the thought but my insurance still wouldn't cover the treatments no matter what state I go to.

You say its not required to be covered, have you called your insurance and asked someone there if they have an optionaly plan or if they may cover any part of it even though its not required?

No Missouri is pretty ignorant like that. If they don't have to cover it they wont, plus the insurance is through my work and I don't pay for it so I can't really add things on there,Lol. Thankfully though the diagnoses procedures are covered. So my HSG will be covered and the SA.

Yeah is there anyway you could get a supplemental insurance? One that you do pay for and they maybe cover the infertility stuff?

I have done alot of looking into getting some kind of insurance that would cover infertility when I didn't have any. I found absolutely nothing!!! It is just not available for Missouri residents to have infertility coverage insurance. It really sucks.

To help cut cost FYI www.drugstore.com has SA kits. I never thought I would see that. Good Luck!
