My Mood: Points: 1,254.53 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,254.53 | Scared! Ok, so was just diagnosed on 6-6-08, and started Metformin and Prometrium. I"m suppose to start Clomid as soon as the Prometrium makes my period kick in (I haven't had a period in about 10 mos). How long does it take for Prometrium to start doing it's "thing"?
Does anyone else feel like like passing out from these drugs?
Is it lame to get my hopes up about actually getting pregnant? |

My Mood: Points: 2,766.16 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,766.16 | Hey girl! Don't worry!!!
I always have to use provera to bring on my period, and it usually takes anywhere from 2-10 days. When I was on Metformin, it made me VERY ill, but the body will begin to get used to it. Right now, all of your hormones are going crazy, so of course you feel sick.
And it is definitely NOT lame to get your hopes up about having a baby. My husband and I welcomed our beautiful little boy into the world 3 weeks ago, and I was told I would have a horrible time getting pregnant, if at all. There are a ton of cysters who have children or are pregnant. And while some of us have had it easier than others (and many of us have experienced losses), the end result for many has been healthy pregnancies and babies. NEVER give up hope and NEVER be afraid of asking for help/prayers, etc.
Keep checking out threads, doing research and advocate for yourself. The girls here are wonderful and are always willing to help/give advice because we have been there. Best of luck to you!!

There is nothing wrong with hoping, there are lots of cysters who have children. |

My Mood: Points: 5,297.23 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 5,297.23 | Now, I'm not sure if PCOS is something you always have, or if it is something you can suddenly get. I've always had irregular periods since puberty. I conceived my son (who is now 2) with no interventions at all. Now I've been trying to conceive #2 and have been having difficulty. I went to the doc because of the difficulty I was having and that is how my PCOS was discovered. (I was just diagnosed as well.) So assuming I had PCOS when I got pregnant with my son, it absoutely is possible to get pregnant, since I conceived him with no help at all! (My fingers are crossed that #2 will come along soon now that I'm working on getting this treated!) |

My Mood: Points: 2,093.13 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,093.13 | Well, I've always used Provera, not Prometrium, but it usually kicked in somewhere between the 5th day of the 10 that I take it, and 2-3 days after I finish the last pill. Its not unusual for either the met or the provera (prometrium in your case) to make you feel sick. The met is worse for that I think, but your body will start to get used to it after a few weeks.
And as far as it being foolish to get your hopes up about getting pg, it absolutely is not!! If we lose hope, all is lost!! Just try to keep your spirits up, and if you need any support or anything else, let me know! |
