Hi. I know its difficult when you hate a teacher at school, I think we have all been there. The only advice I can give is just to not let it get to you. Go to his lessons, just keep your head down and just get on with it. And really work hard in the lessons you ENJOY. It wont be forever, and if you let it get to you and give you bad grades, that is something that you will have to live with for the rest of your life.

I agree with Naomi. It is difficult when you don't get on with a teacher, but that happens throughout life be it at work or family, we can't like everyone! I think Naomi is right, just keep your head down and get on with it. It's not worth letting someone you don't like affect your grades at school, or letting him affect your behaviour. It's only one class and I'm sure you can rise above it and show him how well you are doing and how far you've come since your last school.
You will be fine, just remember to rise above it! Keep us updated

It's a matter of maturity. You have to just get on with it - who cares whether you hate a teacher or they're your best friend in the world? At the end of the day, you're there to get the GCSEs and then get on with your 'real' life! If you really loved a teacher, chances are you never see them again in your life when you're done. In the grand scheme of things, does it matter? I had an Art teacher I hated, but I loved Art. (In those days it was O Levels!) Because I hated this woman, and she used to be really catty and nasty to the girls but especially to me, it got in the way of my work and I failed the O Level (Got a D which in those days was a fail). I knew I shouldn't have got a D, not in that subject that I loved.
When we went back to the Lower Sixth, I decided to re-sit Art whilst I did my A Levels. Chances were I'd have another teacher (it was a big school and there were probably half a dozen art teachers). But no, I got her again. Only 2 of us we re-sitting, me and a friend of mine who had also been good at art so no-one knew why she failed, either. I'll always remember first thign that woman said to us both was : *Ah you two are back. I see you're eating humble pie now.* As a qualified teacher myself, now, I know that was an nprofessional and inexcusable thing to say to a child. But you know what? Something must have happened because over that 6 weeks holiday, we had both matured enough to just look at her with contempt, but say nothing. Then just both got on with the work and we both passed - with high grades, in the November. We'd just got that tiny bit more mature and knew that it didn't matter what we thought of that vile woman - all that mattered was getting the grade so we'd never have to sit in a room with her again.
I also had a French teacher who was very vicious to me but apart from me, had a class ful of pets who could do no wrong. I got a 'B' (and most of the pets failed) and I always thought I used my hate of her to motivate me to 'show; her. Wish I'd done the same with the art teacher!
So take a tip from me - take those feelings for that man and use them as rocket fuel! Get your head down, work hard, and imagine his face when he sees your A or B.
P.S: As a former teacher I'll let you into a secret - it's the same for them, too! In every class you get one kid you just cannot like no matter how hard you try. A professional teacher will cover this so the kids never suspect. But it's a fact. I've taught kids I hated the guts of - but they've never suspected it! so ahs everyone. It will be the same for you when you get into the world of work - there are always personality clashes. No point using it to hide behind.

aww - i remeber those days. I think the girls have said it all, really . Try not to let him get to you. You can do it!! Thanks for letting us know how you feel, y'know you can say things to us. speak soon - pm me if you want
polly - you're reminded me of my French teacher, too. She was horrible to me. Always had me in tears...........
I TOTALLY know how u feel love, I had this problem with a Biology teacher wen i was about 16. He gave me grief big time used to make me look stupid in front of the whole class and then half way thru the year he said "Look Chloe, why dont you just put your head on the table, not liek your gonna learn anything anyway"
I Complained bout him but neevr got anywhere so I made a promise to myself that I was going to prove him wrong, did all my class work n blah blah n in the end i was the only person in my year to get a 1 (its the same as your A) The best feeling in the world was handing in my books back to him and watching him eating his words
I know its difficult to put all these into practice, but I have been there, now when i see him in the street i laugh at him
If ya need to talk, PM me My bro is also going thru the same thing now, just because he is my little bro, gettinng grief because of who his sister was!

When I did my GCSEs I was predicted an F for RE. The teacher hated me, and I must say the feeling was mutual. In my mock for the exam I remember I came bottom of the class and got 35%!! Anyway, I thought Im really going to piss her off...... and worked sooo hard over the holidays and did all my revision and got an A! So screw her!!
Teachers, doctors, friends, co- workers, in fact any profession ..... you get some BRILLIANT ones that will totally inspire you....... but also some complete duds who you just wont get on with at all.
Just make sure you get on with it, and do the best of your ability. What subjects are you doing?
