My doctor put me on seasonique and I just started taking it this week. I don't have much to say about it thus far...except that it has made me extremely nauseous! To combat this I've read that you're supposed take it with a meal and preferably before bedtime. I tried it tonight...hopefully it will work!
I took it for just the past 2 weeks. I was fine the first 2 days, then I threw up almost every day, and food all sounded disgusting, but I was constantly hungry. I put on 8lbs. I hope this is water weight. I quit taking it yesterday and when back to my Yasmin, which my endo says is great for PCOS. I already feel better. Everyone reacts differently to different pills, but the Yasmin and Yaz are supposed to be good for pcos, and would ask to try itout before getting an RX. It is really expensive and if you react the way I did you aren't going to be able to stick it out.

Okay I'm almost done my first month of seasonique. So far I've reacted to it fairly well...considering Yasmin made my body go completely insane. I've noticed increased appetite but I've been able to curb my eating and I havn't gained any weight. I've also noticed some moodiness but nothing unmanageable. The nausea is pretty consistent though but I found if you ate something at the same time it almost always prevents it. Also I'm around the time where I'm "supposed" to be getting my period and I've had intermittent cramps...but no breakthrough bleeding. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with really bad night sweating...I wonder if it is related?
I was on seasonique for two months. It made me extremely irritable and moody and I have zero sex drive. I was repulsed at the thought. I stopped taking it and everything improved. I am yet again in search for a good pill.

Read ALL the side effects you can find reported and not just on the Seasonique website. Really different from any bc side effects i've ever had so I didn't know what was causing my problems.
These are what i experienced in my first 3 months:
-Dizziness
-Bleeding or spotting
-Problems wearing contact lenses (yeah, a real side effect. ugh.)
-Acne (the tiny amount of acne i used to have got 100x worse)
-Hair loss on scalp (I didnt have this at all before i started seasonique)
-nausea
-vomiting
-nervousness
-vision changes
-pale stool
-changes in mood/depression (i have a long family history of depression and i cant believe the doctor didnt mention anything)
**blood sugar changes. im not diabetic but i thought i'd mention it incase anyone here is.
Honestly I know this sounds ridiculous. I'm not usually a person who has any issues with medicine so I didn't bother to check the side effects myself when i started. My doctor didn't mention anything but nausea. I'm going back to yaz asap!! If you try this, be careful, it's pcos's best friend. It just enhanced all the problems i had (acne, etc.) and gave me NEW ones (hair loss).
Sorry this is so long, im frustrated.
