My sister has this really bad on her upper arms, and the dermatologist gave her this really thick cream - I think it has lactic acid in it. I posted about it before - I'll try to find the info. Oh, and when she was using the cream regularly, it really did help a lot but she's bad about remembering and sticking to the routine so it comes back.

my mom is a dermatologigic nurse. Are you sure you dont mean you have keratosis pilaris? That's what I have on the back of my upper arms and my very upper thighs (and DH has same places too). I have been given many a things to help and some makes it a little better but it never goes away. Lachydrin is the most widely given for KP though. Seborrheic keratosis on the other hand are wart-like growths... benign tumors actually. The treatment for them is cryotherapy (freezing them off) or but surgically cutting them out. SO make sure what it is that you have first
Any questions at all, just ask. I love medical stuff and if a family wasn't a huge priority on my life, I would have been a doctor (started as a bio-chem major in college - i am such a geek). I love to help.

Thanks all for the valuable info! I am going to give some of these suggesstions a try. I go to the dermo in a couple of months (couldnt get in sooner)....I will find out than whether it is keratosis or pilaris....good question - I don't really know which one it is. I do know that I want smooth skin again. Or at least something that close to it....
