Default Second angel

We just lost our 2nd baby. We saw the heartbeat one week and then the next week it was gone. We are so devastated. All my numbers were great. progesterone was great, etc. Even after seeing the reassuring flicker....I never spotted or anything and had my D and C today. I feel so empty now that I know the baby is gone.

Did anyone ever find out any helpful info from the tissue testing? Last time I had it done it came back as no abnormalities. This time I am also getting bloodwork done to test for possible reasons for miscarriage. They said I could get that done in a week. DOes anyone know what they test for and should I request anything specifically? I have had one successful pregnancy, he is now 5. BOth of my losses were after our son. One was 3 years ago and this now now.

I think I may be araid to even attempt pregnancy again. Last time it took me 3 years to feel like I could try again. This time I dont have that luxury since I am 38 and time is ticking.

Any insight is appreciated and my thoughts are with all of you during this painful journey.

Melissa, I am so sorry for your loss. I know there isn't anything in the world that can make you feel better. Give yourself some time to grieve and decide what you want to do.

Melissa- I have had 3 loses. 2 before DS and 1 after. I had tissue testing on the first and the last. It was incoclusive on the first and no abnormalities on the last. I also had all the bloodwork done this time since it was my 3rd loss. All was normal. No explination. I am so sorry that you are going through this yet again. I think that the bloddwork is a good idea because there could be something there that did not affect your first pregnancy which resulted in your DS.

Hi Melissa, I'm so sorry for your losses. I'm in a similar situation to you, I have one successful pregnancy and since trying to conceive my second child I've had 2 miscarriages. Are you seeing an RE? I started seeing an RE after my second loss and underwent all the testing. I came out fine for everything except the HSG revealed my uterus to be oddly shaped. My RE thought I had uterine polyps/fibroids and recommended surgery to remove them. I had my surgery yesterday (a hysteroscopy and D&C) and I did in fact have several polyps/fibroids which were removed. Apparently those can cause miscarriages. So just a suggestion to check out if your doc hasn't already checked into this. Good luck to you and I hope you get some answers soon.

Stacy-- thank you for sharing that info. I am gong to ask for a hsyterocopy if all the tissue testing comes back normal. I am wondering if I have uterine issues also...maybe scar tissue from my first csection or something. THey always tell me I am difficult to scan- that my uterus is really long. I will be so upset if it turns out to be a structural thing--after they have done a gaziliion scans on me how could they not have caught that> ugh.
Thanks and I hope you recover quickly from your procedures. Babydust to all.

I'm so sorry about your loss! I remember last time, and it just doesn't get easier. They are each unique. I hope you can find out something to help, I'm not experienced with testing at all. Hugs!!!

I am so sorry for your loss.

Are they testing you for any thrombophilias or other genetic problems with you? I have had three mc. After the last one, they FINALLY tested me everything under the sun. Turns out, they found a thrombophilia (MTHFR). It still aggravates me that I had to go through 3 mc before they would test me for problems.

I had to go back in today because I was bleeding so heavily and passing these huge clots- I was nauseous and dizzy and in a lot of pain. ugh. They did an u/s and did not see any " pregnancy remnants" ( what a horrible term). THey are giving me more methergine, an antibiotic to ward off a uterine infection, and vicodin for the pain. I got the lab slip for the recurrent pregnancy loss blood panel. I have to wait 2 weeks to get that done. That was the only thing checked off on the slip- I hope that is a borad panel of stuff they are testing for. I saw lupus antiphospolid listed seperately on the slip and am tempted to check that off too. Wasnt sure if that was automaticaly included in the panel or not.
This does roally suck. I went back to work today after being out over a week...and then had to leave because I had blood running down my legs in the bathroom yuck, sorry if TMI.
Now I am home parked on the couch. again.

Big huge (((HUGS))) I would check the lupus antiphosolid. That is the one for clotting disorders.... I hope you feel better soon and that this will be all over very shortly (I know that sounds bad but I know how bad it is unfortunatly)

Thanks for sharing your story. Im so sorry your going through this. I am awaiting my second miscarriage after my numbers dropped yesterday. I asked to be tested for blood clotting disorders also since this is the second chem. preg. after ivf. I dont understand why they dont test for these things sooner?? Good luck to you all.
