Question Second Chemical Pregnancy After Ivf - Whats Next?

Hi - This is my first post - Im so happy to find this site. I'm heartbroken today. After my second IVF attempt I found out yesterday its a chemical pregnancy - by tommorrow they expect my numbers to be below 5. This is the second time that something happens between week 4-5. They want to do blood work to see if I have a blood clotting disorder. Has anyone else been through this? We have been TTC 2 1/2 yrs and with our RE for 1 1/2 - shouldnt they have checked for this already? I only have 3 good embryos left - I feel they have wasted 2 of my embryos and a lot of my time and putting me through 2 miserable miscarriages. Any advice would be very helpful - thank you.

I don't have any advice, unfortunately.

I wanted to send you hugs, I'm so sorry for your losses.

I hope the testing brings some answers.

Im sorry for your loss.

Me myself after 2m/c s I was tested for all kinds of things nothing but IR was found and my husband has low volume. So we have a slim to none chance getting pg on our own.

Well after 1st iui attempt I had some issues so I took a break. Im not going through mc # 3

so now more testing is going to be done. Like you said they will be testing for the blood clotting and some chromosone testing also. Its frustrating because I thought I've been there done that.

what determines if it is a chemical pregnancy vs. a miscarriage? my dr.s have worded mine as miscarriages.

Hugs!!

Chemicals are where you miscarry before being able to see anything via u/s. The only way of knowing one was pregnant was via b/w and a positive pregnancy test. It's still a miscarriage, but the technical term is a "chemical pregnancy."

Amanda: That's the same reason I love it here too. And I'm happy to be here for you. We all need each other.

Wendy - sorry to hear your going through the same thing. I went today for the blood work and they said it should take about a week for the results. In the meantime I am waiting to start the miscarriage. Im actually hoping I start this weekend so I can do my next transfer in Dec. At the doctors today they told me the best scenario would be that it is something w/ blood clotting b/c that is fixed w/ meds. Its when they find nothing that makes it harder b/c its unexplained. I am hoping things work out for the best for the both of us. Stay positive - its easier said than done but thats all we can do right now.

Another Dreamer - thanks for clarifying the chem. preg. vs miscarriage. I was wondering the same thing. One of the nurses at the drs. office today when I asked how soon will i miscarry said that w/ chem. preg. your body absorbs it? I had never heard of that. have you? I still thought after implanting an embryo through ivf and getting post preg. results then neg. that it is still a miscarriage. Ugh - so confusing. Thanks again for all the support - i find myself glued to my laptop now whenever im home. Thanks again.
