Default Second month on NPC

Well I thought I'd just let you all know how the NPC is going but I'll fill you in on my symtoms first. I haven't had a regular AF for about a year now (since coming off Dianette). They have varied from 10 day cycles to 55 day cycles. I have had acne all over my chin and jaw line and the back of my thighs have had to be waxed quite regular. I also put on a lot of weight all on my stomach in a very short space of time.

Well two months ago I began using NPC for day 14-28. The first month AF appeared on day 31 and this month she was on day 29. As a bonus I feel like I ovulated this month because round about day 15 I felt mild period pains for about an hour or so then they faded away. Had quite a surge in libido shortly after this.

As for the acne I am completely clear at the moment and I seem to only get any spots during week three and they are far less than before. Not noticed any difference in the hair on the back of my thighs yets but it is still early days yet so I live in hope.

I'll keep you all posted as my plan is for six months then see if my body can do with out it.

Default What schedule are you following for NPC?

I want to start it on my next cycle - which days are you using it?

Hi Bellemere,

I've been using about 1/8th of a teaspoon twice a day on days 14-28. Just a word of waring during the early stages your symptoms may seem a little worse but this should pass. During my first couple of weeks I felt quite irritable and I had sore breasts but on the plus side I had rather a rise in my libido. I think this is to do with your hormones re balancing themselves.

Anyway good luck and keep us posted.

Default Louise, thanks@

This is helpful info. I notice your supplements are things I am taking, have taken, or am interested in.....so I'd love to hear more from you about the NPC is working with those, or how much results you did or didn't get with them before starting it.

How long have you been using the NPC now?

Default Hi X

Hi ya X

On Friday 12th September I shall be starting my 3rd month as that will be day 14.

Acne has improved a great deal. I seem to have at least two weeks a month were I have no spots at all. The rest of the time I only seem to be getting 2 or 3 instead of the usual 7 - 10 per outbreak so I'm very pleased with that. I have also lost a few pounds in weight about 7lbs so far so there's another plus. This could be because one of progesterone functions is to convert fat to energy.

i still haven't noticed any change in the excess hair growth I get on the back of my thighs but still hoping on that one.

If I'm going to ovulate this month it should be anytime now. Last month I felt it as I got very mild period pains for about an hour which then faded to be followed the next day by an increase in libido so my partner is very happy aswell.

in my experience so far I would reccommend NPC but everybody is different and what works for one may not work for another.

As for the other supplements I have been on them for about 7 months and didn't notice anything much with just those so I am thinking about stopping them and just carrying on with NPC.

hope this helps you decide if you want to try it or not. Keep me posted.

Default Louise! Thanks!

I am pretty sure I am going to try it. What brand are you using? I'm curious not only about the name but how you made sure it was the legitimate real deal since so many creams out there are called progesterone but actually don't have any progresterone in them, etc. What did it say on the ingredients/packaging info?

How much did it cost?

Thanks so much, Louise!

Default NPC

Dear X,

I am using a cream called 'Serenity'. The reason I chose this one is because it was in the recommended suppliers list in the back of Dr John Lee's book called 'What your Doctor may not tell you about Premenopause' There were other brands as well but I found their website so I ordered it. http://www.progesterone.co.uk

Default progesterone and skin

Louise, sorry for the million questions. (bookmarked the serenity site, thnx)

But I do have another one!

Did the pattern of WHERE you were getting spots change when you started the progesterone? You mentioned that they got worse briefly...that all symptoms worsened a short time, right? And then did they go back to "normal" or less than normal.....and are the spots appearing on your face or body or what, if you dont' mind me asking?

It seems to me that everything affects hormones affects my skin SOMEHOW you see.....and I'm trying to figure out if it's going to be a complentary change or an exacerbating one, you know? (grin)

Thanks a million!

Default Symtoms

Hi X,

Well the symtoms that got worse with me were premenstural symtoms such as irritability an sore breasts. The spots didn't get worse they just didn't clear straight away, although thinking about it I did get a few on one of my inner thighs which I have never had before. I always get them on my chin. They cleared by about the second month and I just got a small outbreak in about week three of my cycle. Although this month I have had some spotting and a much worse outbreak on my chin again but I think this is due to some major stress I have been having at work. I have continued to use the NPC and things seem to be calming down again. I am still very pleased as I didn't really expect any results for at least six months.

Stress is my nemesis. I only have to suffer a small amount and my hormones seem to go out of whack. I think I shoud perhaps take up Yoga to try and combat it but it's hard to find the time.

Hope this helps.
