Default Secret Deodorant Skin Renewal

has anyone tried Secret Deodorant's Skin renewal? I picked it up at wallymart last week, and its supposed to visibly improve the condition of your arm (pits) in about 14 days!

Since i am plagued with the dark patches on my skin, especially under my arms, i thought i'd give it a try....and by God, i think I see a little difference!!

Hi Gnzls24...

No I haven't tried Secret Skin Renewal yet.. I haven't even heard of it... maybe we don't have it here in Canada yet. I think I'll head over to Wal-Mart tomorrow night after work and if it is there I might just pick it up and check it out. If it works for my pits, I may just be tempted to apply it to the dark patches I have on my thighs and upper tummy.... hehehe

*HUGS*

Default Hello!!!

I've been using Dove roll on deoderant. I've come to the conclusion that rollons do better for my underarms than solids whether they're clear or the regular solids.
I bought the Dove on clearance at Food Lion one day and before I new it, the darkness was clearing up....and I wasn't even intending on using the deoderant for that purpose. When I was using solids, the deoderant would seem to "cake-up" and become thick....no matter how much I washed my under arms. But now the darkness is much lighter....so maybe the Secret will work if it's a rollon. Hope this is helpful!!!

Are any of you ladies also taking Metformin? Since the dark patches (called acanthrosis nigricans) is caused by Insulin Resistance, the improvement you see may be more due to the effects of the Met than the deoderant.

I actually have been giving my pits a break from deodorant, buy lightly powdering them instead, just so I don't stink, but not enough to clog the pores. It has been wonderful. I was finding that even though I was washing them well, the deodorant was not coming off, so I wasn't getting clean. I actually went a day without powder or deodorant and I didn't stink too bad until late evening. Of course I am a housewife, so I don't go out into public often, but dh didn't seem to mind.

I've switched from anti-perspirant to deodorant for the same reason (having trouble getting it off me when I washed). I've tried quite a few deodorants, most of which didn't really work for too long. HOWEVER, I'm now hooked on "Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal" -- available in original crystal form (ok), roll-on (not so good) and spray mist (my favourite!)

I am dry, and odour-free, and best of all I have no product buildup!

My hubby and I switched to the crystal/salt stones too. we got tired of the deodorants and anti-perspirants, plus i read somewhere the the aluminum in them can go through the skin barrier and may be linked to breast cancer (yikes!). I actually prefer the salt since it controls smell and doesn't stain or mark clothing.

I've never heard of the Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal or the crystal/salt stones where do you get this stuff from?

i use tom's of maine deodorant, and have never had any problems with it. it doesn't have aluminum, and it's not an antiperspirant. they have unscented, and naturally scented. i use the calendula one. it is designated as a gentle deodorant. i get it from a health food grocery store, just cause that's more convenient for us, but i've seen it at mainstream drugstores and grocery stores, too. they have solids and roll-ons. the solids aren't pasty, nor are they entirely clear. i like it a bit better than the salt crystal deodorant, though i'm not sure why.

they also make great toothpaste! i hate mint (well, most of the time- i like it with chocolate!), and they have a fennel one that is lovely. you can get it with or without flouride. i like that it's an option.

Talking Hello again

I'm not taking Met.
I honestly must say that the dark patches are clearing up b/c of the rollon deoderant. But everyone has to be a judge for themselves!!!

I have been using deodorant very rarely since my armpit boil episode - I am pretty sure it was caused by using gilleette soft and dri power stripe, but erring on the side of caution, i have hardly been using any deodorant, ever...

and something really weird i have noticed it, my armpits stink LESS than they used to! I used to get stinky doing pretty much NOTHING, if I didn't wear deodoarnt. Now I can go without, go out for a walk or rollerbalde... and hardly stink at all.

weird, huh?

i gotta add, i find the idea of anyone renewing their armpits hilarious... it's just one of those areas i never think about much!

BTW the american concer society has debunked the deodorant/breast cancer myth, for what that''s worth.

I'm also using very little deodorant right now thanks to my annual intertrigo (yeast) rash in my armpits!
I normally use either Crystal roll-on or Dry By Nature deodorant by Dessert Essence. On days when my rash is not too painful I'll use Nutribiotic's unscented deodorant w/grapefruitseed extract (gse). GSE is supposed to be a candida fighter. Some days I use Nystatin cream (Rx). Funny thing is I don't remember ever getting the rash this early. Usually it comes in the summer. Oh well..

I had a yeast infection under my armpits... and I honestly think I got it from not wearing deoderant... One day I forgot to put it on (I know one of those things you shouldnt forget about!) And within a few days I had a yeast infection under my pits!

Back on subject... I use Suaves natural line... works pretty good... and washes off easily! I have thought about the crystals... but I wasnt sure how good they would work for me
