dede, how can you say you look like Jabba the Hut??? OMG! You are very pretty, despite the mud. haha sl, we're still waiting for your picture.

What's new today princess?

thanks for the good vibes on paychecks. THEY WORKED!!!!!! Not only did we get we were able to cash it. Yeah it was a good check.

Well, I guess in his own way I got a I am sorry gift. He paid to get my hair colored and cut. She did foil and used 3 colors. I wanted to start going a little darker then the normal platinum blonde so we incorporated a brown with a light blonde and some bleach. It really came out good. My hair was really fried from the last time I got it done so we ended up cutting more then we initially wanted to. It looks good. OR maybe this was to keep my mom happy. She hates when I have roots.lol. Either way I got it done and it was kind of expensive and he did not ***** one bit. lol

Missy, how are you holding up. Did you have fun going out.

Oh, I also got my eyebrows waxed. lol.......
and he wanted me to get my nails done but I was tired after 4 hours in the salon.lol

SOOOO, I guess today is a good day

How is everyone doing?

How was the adoption class?

I always feel like crap when it comes to my "body image". I'm 5'6 and 170lbs and everytime I look in the mirror I feel like I'm 500lbs and a big ugly whale. I keep hearing that I have to get past this and I "just can't think about it" but no one seems to get that it's incredibly hard to train your mind not to think something 24/7. It's the last thing on my mind before I go to sleep and the first thing on my mind when I wake up. Just when I'm starting to relax and not think about my "weight issue" someone says one little comment, like "I feel like chocolate" or "i need a new sweater" and I'm instantly reminded of my issue. It's horrible. It's like this huge extra weight I'm caring around with me. I don't know if anyone else feels like this and what they do to feel better. Well...I do feel slightly better from writing it down so hopefully this will last for a little while.

dede, I'm so glad that you were able to ENJOY some of the money this time and not just have to pay bills with it! It sounds like it was expensive and a lot of fun.

bookworm, welcome to the thread. This may sound really dumb but I bought a copy of Dr. Phil's Ultimate Weight Challenge book two months ago and so far its worked wonders! I've actually changed my thinking about my weight...even though there are days when it gets the best of me. Try reading it and see what you think.

As for me, I didn't go out Friday night. I ended up going to a basketball game with one of my girlfriends and her daughter and then straight home. I was really drained. HE got home just a few minutes after I did and he was alone without the kids. (I had to sneak a peek out the window.) Last night he was home alone too. I've been doing okay, just trying to understand what changed so drastically for him. My family and friends have all been calling which helps a lot.

bookworm, welcome to soulcysters! Missy is right thinking in terms of your weight you have to change the way you think about yourself and food. I hate looking at myself in the mirror. I cant stand it. I have begun to think about the positive. I am slowly changing the way I eat. I dont call it a diet I call it a lifestlye. I was pretty slim in high shcool and I have gained so much weight over the years. If you have not looked at it look under the diet and excericse section and check out the June challenge for weight loss. there is so much support on this site for anything and everything. Even things that are not PCOS related. Good luck and welcom.

Missy, atleast he was alone too. I would of taken a peak out the window too.lol I am so happy that you have so much support. I hope you find the answers you need however, if he does tell you what has happened with him it probably wont be for a while.

I did have so much fun getting my hari done. Did I mention that he wanted me to get my nails done too. He has cleaned my car spotless. it looks like a new car..

got to go for now

Hey girls,

Well, I am still working on a pic of myself... I can't find any that are small enough so I am having to edit them so that SC will except it.

Welcome Nicole,
This is a great group of women that are supportive of one another, and we are glad that you are joining us!

Hey Denise,
Sounds like you had a great time. I always love it when I get a chance to be pampered!!!

Misscoyote,
This sort of thing is never easy, but I am glad that you have a support system to lean on! Including us!!!! And I remember when my DH and I were apart for a time... I would check to make sure he was alone on a occasion too... I think it is perfectly natural!

Princess,
How was your weekend?

Our adoption class went really well, and let me tell you I am just so over the top excited that I can barely contain myself. After much discussion we've decided that we would be willing to take a sibling group (2) if they were under the age of 3... and actually we are starting to think we would prefer that. They mentioned at the class that sometimes the children will adjust more redily when they have some familiarity like a sibling with them! And we feel like we could handle something like that. So now we are waiting for our homestudy which will be done the end of March or first part of April, with a placement by fall (at least that is what they estimated).

Stephanie, you are doing foster care too? Or just strictly adoption? Wow, just think, this fall you could have a little one or two in your house! Duh, I know you've been thinking about it. haha It just seems so exciting.

No fostering just adoption right. Once we have kids in our house (that are ours) then we think we will foster. But for now, we are uncomfortable with the uncertainties of fostering... meaning how long will they be with us and stuff, right now I work full time and once we have our placement I won't... but with fostering it would be hard for me to get back into the work force if we were without any kids....

I know... this is all we think about pretty much!!! Which is wonderul!

Miss,

LOL about the contacts. Whatever works. They look great! Wow I'm sorry things didn't work with Kyle. I do think that you are alot better off without him. My house will be done next weekend!!! I am so excited. I am babysitting my neice until Sunday so posting is hard. She's a high maintence baby. LOL But she is a blast. I will post a pic of her on here. We are going to be moving very soon. If I don't post that is why!

Dede,

Don't let him hurt you for the sake of the kids!!! You are worth more than that! I am getting glasses Saturday. Dreaded! But I cannot stand contacts. DH bought them for me and I wouldn't wear them. LOL I have hazel eyes too. You do not look like jabba da hut. I hope your brother stays safe. He's in my prayers. That picture was TOO cute. What were you doing in the mud? Lots of good paycheck vibes. Oh wow you got one! Awesome. I am so glad you got your hair done. Send us the new picture. Sounds like a great I'm sorry gift. LOL

Nicole,

Welcome to our thread. I hope you start to feel better about yourself really soon. This is a great group of girls and I'm sure we can help cheer you up. Or at the very least you can complain to us. =0)

Sl,

My weekend was good. I spent a fortune on paint at Lowes but I llove the color we bought for my master bedroom and bath. I too have thought about taking a sib group of two if they were both under 3 years.

Happy Mardi Gras.... FAT TUESDAY... Oh to live in my home state of La. again... Texans have no idea what they are doing... they all started having celebrations last week...

How is everyone doing this morning? I'm okay, the weather is overcast and rainy... and I have a touch of sore thoart so that's kind of a bummer... other than that I guess I really can't complain.

Interesting thing happened last night at orchestra rehearsal... I was talking with the lady that sits next to me and some how we got on the subject of kids and infertility and come to find out she has PCOS! Anyway, I told her what a great group of women (and men) SC has, and invited her to join. I hope she does, it seems like she could really use a support network!

Stephanie, its neat that you play in an orchestra. What instrument do you play? How long have you been playing?

Sorry to hear about your sore throat. I was feeling that way the other day but I realized that it was probably from smoking lately! I normally don't smoke but have been smoking the past couple weeks. Hope you feel better soon.

Funny thing happened to the "ex" bf last night. He sprained his ankle pretty bad at the gym. Is it wrong of me not to feel bad about it?
