I know that there have been topics like this before, but I can't seem to remember where, and can't seem to find them now...
I'm getting Married in June (a little over 3 months away) and I was thinking about trying out a product like Jergens or Dove natural glow. I wondered if anyone else out there has used eiether one of these products and what kind of results you recieved.
I am very fair skinned, (i'm part Irish, English, German, and French Canadian...which equals almost no color at all) I'm just looking to look SLIGHTLY tan, and to cover up the little bit of a line that I have from last year. I know that white makes you look slightly tanned anyway, but I don't want it to look fake.

I am very fair skinned as well. I tried the Jergans brand, it worked pretty well for me. I had my DH assist me with the hard to reach areas. Just make sure you rub it in very well on your knees and elbows. Wash your hands quick. I would use it again. Hope this helped : )
I've been using Johnsons Holiday Skin for a while now and love it but I've also heard great things about the Dove range. The words of wisdom I've got with regards to fake tanning come from my aunt who works for a magazine production company and her beauty editor friends are a wealth of information! They said ideally it is best to exfoliate and moisturise properly for a week and then apply the first coat of fake tan or moisturiser tanning product fresh after moisturising with your regular moisturiser. They also said to always avoid the joints (ankles, knees, elbows) which contradicts the pp but maybe it depends on the product?

thanks guys. I kknow that self tanners can accumulate in the joins such as knees and elbows, but I think as long as you're rubbing it in well you'll be alright.
My only other question is do these natural glow type products really look natural??? or do they make you look orange and/or streaky??? Like is said I'm looking for something for my wedding, and the last thing I want in my wedding pictures is to look orange...I can even handle looking fat, just not orange lol
I'm thinking that I'm going to just give one of them a whirl. Jergens and Dove both say that It takes about a week to see results....and about 2 weeks after you stop using it, to stop seeing it. So I should have plenty of time. I ideally i will be able to lay out in the sun and get a real tan before the wedding, but I do live in Michigan and weather is never guaranteed here. With my luck I would plan on doing that and it won't get above 40 until my wedding lol
Thanks for the advice though You were both very helpful!

My results were very natural to me. It was just a touch of color. I liked it.
Good luck, I hope you get your desired results.
Congrats on the upcoming wedding!!
I got married in Nov. 06 and used the Jergens natural glow about 4 months prior just in case ( I am very fair skinned as well) and I didn't like the look. So I actually went to this place here is Houston that did spray tanning....it was very natural looking. They take into consideration your skin tone so it doesn't look orange or fake..like too much sun. I will get the name of the place if you are interested and you could see if they have any in your area.

I have used the Jergens Natural Glow as well. I also ordered Tan Towels from HSN, or QVC, I can never remember. Anyway, they are just a little towlette with self tanner in them. I LOVE them! They are so simply to just wipe on, then toss the towel. No lotions or anything. They also dont leave an after smell. Check them out too.
Love the lotions.....Olay is my fave, I use the one for light complexions and their face touch of sun is a good not splotchy formula... I hated Dove it faded in a icky way... exfoliation is really important and washing your hands... I know there is a ton of self tanner discussions in the topics section of this tribe check em out..... as far a s lotions go I use them every day until I reach a color I like, then every other time I shower which comes out to about every
