Hey everyone...I'm kinda new here...i've been reading for a few weeks since i was finally dx with PCOS. I had been telling my PCP that i thought i had pcos for a few years and he just brushed if off as "it's just a clinical diagnosis and nothing can be done ...blah blah blah" and implied that i read too much on the web. Soooo after not getting my periods for a few months this year i went to my gyn and he told me it was basically cuz i am overweight and suggested that i get the gastric bypass surgery. i totally bought into all of this and went ahead with the consult and getting ready for surgery. Half way through all the prep stuff, my husband's insurance changed at work to united health care (god they suck!!) and they don't cover the surgery. So hitting this brick wall encouraged me to get a 2nd opinion from a different gyn. So i found this amazing woman Dr. Welsh here in Danbury and she also has PCOS is and is a slightly bigger woman, so she gets it!!! she gets me!!! i spent an hour with her and after that she became my gyn dr. She told me that the surgery would've helped, but that it wasn't a cure....i was gonna have this my entire life and always have. She really opened my eyes to alot of stuff and if anyone in Danbury, CT is looking for a gyn, i highly recommend her. she's amazing..she told me that it is possible to get preggers at my weight and that she can make it happen with the right meds, etc.

so, DH and i are gonna try to start getting preggers next fall after we get our finances in order, etc. I'm so happy to have found this board and all you amazing women!
