Apparently it is a food additive (sprinkles) that enhance the taste and smell of foods and trigger you to think you are full so you eat less. Here is the story on my news: http://www.wcpo.com/mostpopular/stor...1-549cb4f65662
And here is a link to the company: http://www.trysensa.com/index.cfm?ac...me.about_sensa
Has anyone heard of this stuff?

Since I have tried many weight loss products with not so great results, I am pleased as an average 56 year old woman (who is about 50 pounds overweight). I tend to be very leary of weight loss claims, but this stuff really works! I have used Sensa for a little over a month and I am losing weight; honestly without any effort on my part. Something in those sprinkles really makes me very full and I am extremely happy with my dramatic results!

I, too, would love to hear more stories if other cysters have tried this!
cpickering56 - good for you! Have you noticed any negative side effects or disadvantages?

Points: 135.40 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 135.40 | I’ve actually been part of their clinical study! Honestly, Sensa is the best thing that happened to me. Since I have been using it I lost 35 pound!. There is no taste to it. I just sprinkle it on my food and it makes me feel full so I don't overeat. I recommend giving it a try! |

Also, I don't see how it would help people who are emotional eaters, or who just keep eating until the food is gone, not paying attention to their hunger/fullness signals. I suspect that many overweight people fall into one of those or maybe some similar situation.
Plus, even if it did work, you couldn't stop using it, or the weight would come back.
Not for me.

Points: 159.89 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 159.89 | I too am an emotional eater and it is very hard to stuff my face when they sprinkles actually make me not hungry. Actually, I miss hogging out! Ha! Truely the benefits far outweight the emotional release that comes from eating just to fill the "empty spaces". I do not claim to be an expert, but it is my personal experience w/ Sensa... |

My Mood: Points: 8,298.78 Bank: 5,651,684.25 Total Points: 5,659,983.04 | I'm glad it worked for you. But, like with any weight loss plan or aid, there isn't any one solution that is right for everybody.
I'm sure this one isn't for me because 1) I don't want to put chemicals into my body that haven't been tested over the long haul for safety and 2) When I eat emotionally, or for any reason other than hunger, I eat until I literally can't fit any more food in my stomach... feeling full sooner wouldn't change that. I recognize that I'm full, but keep eating because it tastes so good, or because I'm still bored, lonely, angry, etc...but keep going til I can't anymore.
For me, anyway, dealing with the mental/emotional/psychological side of things is what has helped. Redefining my relationship with food and learning healthier ways of dealing with my emotions were what I personally needed.

Sensa contains Maltodextrin, Tricalcium Phosphate, Silica, Natural and Artificial Flavors, FD&C Yellow 5, and Carmine. Sensa also contains Soy and Milk ingredients. There are no calories, no sugar, no stimulants, less than 1 mg of sodium, and no MSG.
I need to go look them up but I know carmine is derived from insects......
