Default SENSITIVE skin.

I'm wondering if this could be related at all:

I have horribly sensitive skin. The biggest impact it has on my life is when it comes to shaving. Shaving is PAINFUL for me. No matter what kind of razor I use, or how sharp it is, or what kind of soap, or what kind of shaving cream I use, it physically hurts to shave any area of my body [the more sensitive the area, the more it hurts]. Also, wherever I shave breaks out in razor burn, and ends up nearly covered with ingrown hairs. It makes me feel so gross. Even when I do shave my legs, I still don't like to wear shorts or skirts, because my legs are so raw and red and covered in the ingrown hairs.

Does anyone else have this problem?
If so, could it be related to PCOS?
Also; Does anyone have any advice for helping it?

I get razor burn pretty badly when I shave too. I found this shaving cream called Coochy. Its from the Pure Romance catalog. I never break out when I use it. Have you tried it? It might be helpful for you. Good Luck

I have extremely sensitive skin but find that the Philips Norelco electric razors from the men's range don't irritate me at all.

Thank you guys so much! Those are both really great ideas, and I'll try both of them to see if they help at all. :]

I used to have the same problem when I would shave my legs. The only thing that sort of helped was to shave with baby oil. I'd rub it on my legs and let it sit for a few mins. and then shave. After I had laser hair removal on my legs (which hurt like a mutha, btw) the problem is gone even when I do have to shave the few hairs that are left.

have you tried using hair conditioner when shaving? It conditions my skin as I shave and my skin feels really soft afterwards. I buy an extra bottle and use it as shave lotion.

I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin. On my legs, I use the intuition razor. It works VERY well for me. In my 'other' places, [and ocassionally my legs] I use prescription hydrocortizone cream. It works wonders for me!
