(Ok I have no idea where this should go, so I'm gonna put it here)

What is a normal range for the serum insulin level test?

What level would indicate a need for an increase of glucophage? Like say your serum insulin level was like 23...how much would the standard dosage be in that case? Anybody know?

Every lab is different but my lab wanted the insulin level under 12. If it is higher than that and you are taking met it is time for an increase. Also low carb/sugar would help with that.

My lab and doc say no greater than 17. Most people don't take Glucophage any higher than 2500mg/day. If you need more treatment, they might consider adding another med to your existing dosage.

I only take 500 mg a day and they have been reluctant to increase it for some reason or another.

My doctor took blood to check my insulin levels, I had to call them to get the results... All she nurse said was oh your good. AND me being stupid left it at that.... Now thats all i can think about... I should have asked more questions... What does that mean!


Will they give you copies of lab results for free? I think I'm gonna go there in person on Monday...
