Serum testosterone of 131, told this was normal. Is it?
I am losing faith in my doctor. I have gotten a copy of my medical records and have found that my TSH has been steadily rising and was 3.81 in 2006 (the last time it was checked) and my RE told me it was "normal," even though I am experiencing symptoms of hypo.
Now, I have found that my serum testosterone was 131. Everything I have read says that is high, but my RE has told me my testosterone is "normal," even though I have been experiencing a worsening of my hirsutism.
Can anyone tell me more about testosterone lab values, treatments for high testosterone, and if your doctor treated you for high testosterone with a number lower than mine?
I think I may be losing faith in my RE.... I specifically chose her because she said she would treat me even when I wasn't TTC. However, it feels like she is overlooking many important things and focusing only on a plan to TTC.

I agree with Karyan....that is high and you should actively look for a new endo today!
My testosterone dropped like rock after being on Yaz bcp for almost a month. I know this doesn't help you as you're ttc, but I just wanted to share. Before I started Yaz, I was on OrthoTriCyclen AND Spironolactone and I STILL had highish testosterone, so I definitly think ymmv with most treatments.
Good luck girl!

Oh, that is definitely high! http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/hormonelevels.html And even with this saying 6-86 for total, my previous doctor wanted mine down between 25-30. I agree, time for a new doctor.
With mine, it was up in the 60s when first dx. I started off taking met, then added spiro, but I was having problems with spiro and my other high blood pressure meds. We couldn't seem to get a good combination. I came off of spiro, which was fine since we were starting to ttc later in the year. Anyway, within 6 months of starting meds, my levels were down to 23. Not sure what they are now; they haven't been tested in awhile and I just asked my doctor last week to do so. I'm waiting on the results.

Thank you so much for the responses and info ladies.
I am getting ready to start actively TTC, so I wonder if I should switch RE's or just wait until after TTC. I have complete confidence in her as far as TTC, but I feel like she puts that as the priority and has overlooked these other things. Any advice?
