Default Several questions

I don't know where to begin, haven'th ad much time to post lately because of summer, but I have a coulple of questions...

1. What do you do to take the sting out of sunburn?? I have no Lidocaine and no way to get to the store at the moment (gotta love being stuck with one car, our other one kicked the curb) and was wondering if there were home remedies??

2. No AF since April. Last time I saw my GYN she said that I could start Provera again but I decided against it as it just always made me have Peekaboo AF (which is what I have been having as of late). I'm not happy with my GYN, who has NO advice for me since she's not real familiar with PCOS, and my referral to a RE was denied since I'm not trying to conceive. My insurance sucks.

3. Ever feel like you were gonna have a nervouse breakdown? Between work, home and my 5 yo regressing (potty wise), I feel like I can't take much more.

I haven't been on anti-depressants in years...haven't felt the need for them, generally my mood is okay but lately I have been wanting to run away from everything.

Thanks for listening.

Try white vinegar for the sunburn.

I'll have to think on the other 2.

Take care.

i use vinigar too. i just pour some in a spray bottle and spray all over. it spells bad but the cool feels good and when it drys it still works. i also recomend not showering right after getting out of the sun, the scrubing irritates the burn more. i always wait a few hours after coming inside.

as for question number two:have you tried bcp's? i'm ttc so i have never tried them but have heard they can help in that situation.

question 3 all i can say is try to take some time for yourself, i know its hard juggling all that but on your day off try to find someone that can keep your 5yo away from the house and just relax.

hope i've helped
melissa

I'm sorry you are unhappy w/your dr, I know how that goes. My suggestion is to ask for a referral to a regular endocrinologist since your insurance won't let you go to an RE, you don't need to be ttc to be able to see a regular endo. Just my 2 cents! HTH. Hope the sunburn gets better too! Ouch!

Thanks cysters!

No, no BCPs here because of problems in the past with BC. Haven't used BC in 4+ years and have NOT gotten pregnant once. I just feel my body has gotten out of whack yet again and I hate not knowing what is going on.

I'll try the vinegar!! Thanks!

As for a new doctor, we're going to wait until we find out more about DH's insurnace, he has Group Health and I have a HMO and the HMo is costing us FAR too much monthly so we're considering switching to his. I want to find out exactly how good it is first though.

I'm very fair skinned, so sunburns are my specialty...LOL.....
Aloe Vera is what I'm partial to. We have an aloe plant, so I always cut off a stem and use it. One leaf lasts a while, those plants are filled with aloe. I keep in in a ziploc bag for re-use. OOhhh how it makes my sunburn feel so much better. You can buy the plants at Wal-Mart for like 2 or 3 bucks. And they grow pretty fast.

BCP help. Or try going to the Alternative board. Many herbs that help with no AF. Vitex, progesterone cream, Don Quai....

I've been taking PABA (in the B vitamin family) for several months now as a part of the mega-folic acid therapy for hirsutism -- I'd read that the PABA works as a sort-of internal sunscreen, and it does definitely seem to work.

Seems to help my skin as well.
