I was just watching the Montel Williams Show and it was about men who were born as women. A few of the people said that as a teenager or in their 20's they started to get facial hair like a man and other manly traits. They said that doctors told them they had some male hormones and probably would have problems conceiving a child. I was thinking the entire time "these folks probably just had PCOS". Now granted most of them said they always felt more like a man inside but I wonder if it's because of all the male stuff that we have to deal with. I would just be horrified for someone to get PCOS confused with being born a man. It was very interesting.

Oh, that would be horrible if it just because of PCOS. They had to completely change their lives.
Well, I guess, if they're happier, then it might have been for the better, but it's hard for me to think of becoming a man because of PCOS. I like being female, facial hair or not.
That is very Interesting... I like being a woman so I just can't imagine getting a sex change.

I am so not the girly girl I always felt that when the big guy/girl upstairs was handing out the genitals that I was handed the wrong ones LOL
Not going to get sex change though.... If thats what made those people happy I say good for them!

I think there is always a possibility...i honestly do believe that people who feel like they need to change genders have something wrong metabolically. PCOS could be some sort of an explanation, however, Ive always felt very feminine and girly even with the nasty symptoms.

Whoa, that is really sad if they got the change b/c of these symptoms. I personally could NEVER, I am sooo feminine!! I love my makeup, heels and skirts! The excess hair isn't much fun but, I could never never be a man!
There was actually a cyster who posted recently about the thought of living as a man because of her symptoms. There is also a cyster who I know was pre-op for gender reassignment so it is not so off base.
Personally, I'm very girly as well but my symptoms aren't really linked to high testosterone so it's not really something I would ever have given thought to.

I really do not believe that PCOS has anything to do with the kind of imbalance associated with sexual orientation. However I do believe that these types of trans genderized people do have a hormonal imbalance,it always boils down to a simple choice.Maybe I wont be popular for saying that. But thats how I feel.
I am not trying to push my values on anyone else, but Ithink there is far too many disillusioned people going into the homosexual lifestyle, just because they are on a whim. There are people born with severe hormal mutations, but in my opinion it doesn't change that fact its a choice.
It would definantly be an interesting concept, but because they have the symptons, and yeah they are pretty bad and all, I have them pretty bad, but I would never consider thinking I was a man instead. Way to weird, granted yeah I say hell I hate being a girl, cuz if i was a guy, none of this would all really matter, but I am a girl, and that is who I am.
