I can feel a soul there waiting
Calling out to me
Dancing for joy at the mere thought
Of having me for it's mummy.

There are precious souls already here
A blessing every one
From my two strong-spirited daughters
To my grumpy older son.

But still an emptiness in me
A yearning to conceive
A voice that wills me on and on
"You just have to believe!"

For four years I've heard this message
I've kept an open heart
But the news that I'm not ovulating
Has ripped my dreams apart.

That little soul stills calls to me
"One day I'll be yours"
But I've lost the faith I had
In miracles: closed the doors.

My heart is closed and broken
My femininity going
With a designer stubble on my chin
And a receding hairline showing.

So what do I do from hereon in?
How do I get over this pain?
All I really understand is
Things will never be the same again.
