Default Shaving & underarm skin tags

I hope this is the right place to be posting this - but this is where I am putting it.

I have 3-4 skin tags under each arm and I have soo much trouble shaving around them. It is impossible. I cannot get a razor around them to get all of the hairs.

Does anyone else have this problem? What do you do?

I have a couple under each arm, and I just shave right over them. I think I have cut them before but it doesn't hurt. HTH

I know exactly what you mean! I used to have 20+ skin tags under each arm. Several of them were huge (bigger than a pencil eraser). So, for about 10 years I have just shaved right over them--just shaved like they weren't there. I don't know why; but, they never got cut or anything over all that time.

You CAN get rid of the tags if you would like. Here is what I did: Get a pair of scissors, nail-clippers, whatever and disinfect them with rubbing alcohol. Disinfect the area of your arm that you are cutting too. Get an ice cube out of the freezer, hold it on the skin tag for 45ish seconds (as long as you want actually). That will help decrease the blood flow to the spot, and it kind of numbed it for more. Then just clip it off!

You will bleed some, and it still kind of hurts; but, let me tell you, I am just about the biggest wimp in the world, and if I can stand it you can too! Not having those disgusting bumps under my arms has been so nice!

I have three left on one arm. They are the biggest ones, and I knew that they would really hurt even with the ice. I heard on another board that you can buy the baby teething gel stuff and put it on them to numb it before cutting them off. So, I am going to do that with those 3.

Bite your tongue and just do it and get it over with. You will be SO happy with the results! I have been skin tag free for 2 weeks, and I love it!

THanks for the replies ladies . .
I shave right over mine too - and no it doesn't hurt - but the hairs right around them are always missed - just because of where they grow I guess.

I read somewhere that you can take one of those fine threads(used for sewing) and tie really, really tight around them, and thay will fall off...

I had mine removed, my doc told me that If I get any more to just numb the tag and tie a piece of sewing thread on it and it will fall off. But I am so glad that I got them removed from my under arm.

I thought that I was the only one with the whole skin tag under the arm problem!!! I also have a big one on each calf, I shave over all of them, but the leg ones bleed often!

I agree with this. I only have one on my back that my best freind loves to pull off, but using my DBF as a guinea pig I did this. It was a biggen. I tied thread around it and he moaned that it hurt so I took it off. A couple of days later, the thing fell off! With the string being on only for about 20 minutes. I HTH...I couldn't believe the thing fell off. Now I only wish he would let me get the other ones....hee

I heard somewhere not too long ago, about using tea tree oil, but I cannot remember what it was....I have had them under my arms since puberty...had one on my face for 1 year and then finally had it surgically removed....but I was afraid to use the baby clippers under my arms....how long did you wait before you started shaving again??? I have a couple on my neck and I may just get the string?
