Default shocking news, please help!! naturopathic doctors in GTA area

Hi everyone,
I am so desperate to find a good naturopathic doctor in Toronto area, there are so many of them listed on the internet, just can’t decide which one to go with.
I have tried everything to get rid of these acnes and after 10 years of using Accutane (yeah call me crazy...) I stopped taking it about 4 months ago.
Today I had a follow up appointment with my endo and she simply said there is nothing she can do since I tried everything (BCP, Aldactone, Antibiotics, topical and famous Accutane.)
I feel so depressed and I don’t what do to, I have PCOs (slightly high androgen) but nothing works on these damn pimples.
I wanna try a naturopathic doc, and if this won’t work then I don’t know what I’m gonna do to myself.
Thanks,
G

Default Help in finding an Naturopathic Doctor

I received a google alert about your post.

You can call the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (416-233-2001) or visit the website (you will have to look up the website address since I can't post the url here).

The OAND provides referrals for NDs in your part of the city or province who specialize in women's health issues and can also provide treatment for many specific conditions or help you in your goals of improving your health.

you wanna know what's good a bout her.

NOTHING
I'm seeing her for my acne and pcos she has done nothing so far.
took her 2 full session(1hour) to just give me some advice on diet which I already knew.you can search online.not a big deal
waste of money
dont know if I would go to her again.
the seacond time I went there she basically told be abt diet first and took her 1 hour to write it down for me.
like come on you can just copy the things that you already wrote not over write it again chand charge me 160 for nothing
i dont recommend her.

Yeah....that's what I thought you'd say.
Seems like the only people they're helping are themselves.

sorry to hear that it didn't go well with Dr. Soo...she was great with me so not sure what happened. I haven't seen her in awhile so maybe things have changed.

Sorry again

By the way, you never did tell us exactly which treatments worked so great for you, care to share that information with us ?

As well, did you see her on a regular basis ?

Again, what exactly was it that made her so great ?

Are you just using naturopath or are you taking any meds too? Just wondering...seems like there are not alot of GTA "cysters" on the site...Thanks

I spent $600 for only 3 visits and saliva test.I'm happy with the saliva test but she wasn't helpful,I knew most of the things she told me.I believe she would be helpful for someone who doesn't know how to use internet.
if you don't know nothing abt herbs then yeah thats a good option.honestly I got more helpful information from my natural store at sherway garden than her.

thanks for the info - I am kind of at my wits' end...another gyne has tried to put me on bcp and I am reluctant...I wanted to try metformin but she tells me my blood sugar is not wacky but how the heck does she know when I am able to gain 5-7 lbs in one week and then drop back by 3lbs the next week? that is not normal well for pco I guess it is...thanks again...I want to try to get at this naturally now bc I know that the bcp will just wreak havoc with the cysts again...

Hi there,
I spent a small fortune on Naturopathic care in the summer of 2007. (Over $1200)
I never got sicker faster!!
All of my symptoms became dramatically worse under these two kooks care (Dr. Melanie Facca of Oakville and Sharon Hauck.)
I gained weight...nearly 20 poinds. My blood pressure went thru the roof.
I finally sat and talked with both of them about why I was getting so much worse AFTER a Naturopath became involved and they became vague and unresponsive. They had given me the impression they had great success treating this condition but I ended up not believing them what-so-ever. I felt lied to, deceived and broke by the time I stopped seeing them.

I had interviewed them up front to make sure they knew what they were talking about. They assured me Naturopathic care was the best route for me and it turned out to be the absolute worse decision. Be careful!

I know exactly how you feel.but I'm desperate, and they know it.thats why if they tell to do this or that and charge mw fortune I would do it cause I dont what els I can do.
I was sooo desperate that last month I even went to homeopathic Dr in north york, basically he charged me 250 for some stupid bio feedback machine and never gave me and straight answer to any of my questions.
well I'm actually going to another naturopath her name is pamela frank I saw her website and she seems pretty knowledgeable in treating pcos.
....I guess I havn't learnt my lesson yet but what can I do when all these stupid endos are offering the same Bull..

I really know how you feel miss62.
One of the best things that really helped me was two years ago when my family doctor sat me down and told me how big a business Stein Leventhal PCOS was for drs. He said that women will pay nearly anything to get help and several if not all drs trend towards taking advantage of this desperation.
That conversation was so eye opening for me.

I wrote about my experience here in a day by day diary.

My Story....

I hope you find the help you need. I am so much better now than I was 2 yrs ago.
