Just thought I would share this with you, here's what it says:
Infertility: New Hope
Infertile women might soon have a new form of treatment to help them concieve. A drug called Metformin - taken by Diabetics to control blood sugar levels - has been found to help some women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome to get pregnant. The Syndrome effects more than one in twenty women and can cause infertility, irregular periods an excess body hair. Dotors have found Metformin tablets can improve fetiity in women with the problem by regulating their menstrual cycles and boosting Ovulation.

interesting - the word is getting out there slowly isn't it! Still doesn't make any difference to my consultant who won't give Met except as a last resort if you are Clomid resistant....*sigh*
Hello Lynn - we meet on here at last! Hope you are well.

but it is still a slow process to get anyone to prescribe Met here in Ireland unless you are going to the Simms Clinic in Dublin (which I am not!) Still I think I am doing okay with out it though!

Someone in the alternative remedies was using fenugreek instead of Metformin and said it works really well. Helped to regulate things a bit and definately helped her mood swings - when she didn't take it for a few weeks everything went back to how it was, so it was definately that that was improving things.
Just thought I'd pass that on for what it was worth in case anyone else is having probs getting hold of it (like with my consultant ).
