Default Should I ask for Met?

I am a thin cyster and I am not IR. I questioned my RE on it extensively since I know it's so common w/PCOS and she assured me that my sugars are "perfect". I still, however, have been wondering if I should ask her for metformin? I've read a lot of information that seems to indicate that even if your not IR, your chances of conceiving are higher w/the met. Is it worth it to put myself on another med?

Sidenote.....I have a really sensitive stomach and I heard met can be tough on the tummy, so that part makes me kinda nervous.....

My bloodwork showed that my sugar was fine, but my RE still put me on Met. I'm on the extended release form and have not had any stomach issues. I have also read (and my RE agrees) that taking Met not only helps you conceive, but also helps prevent miscarriage when taken through the first trimester. One article I read showed the miscarriage rate of the control group in the study not taking Met was 44%, while the group taking Met was 8%.

Hello,

My sugars are also fine. I started taking Met to become pregnant and on my 3rd month of taking Met, I got pregnant. I had been trying without the Met for 8 months. So Met really helped. And sadly, yes, I did have a couple of tummy issues with Met but it was worth it in the end.
