Default Should I still be...

Okay...maybe tmi...but..........should I still be bleeding???

I started provera on 8/4 and within a day, I started bleeding very heavy. This continued until I finished my last provera pill on 8/13. Following my doctor's orders, on 8/14 I then started taking my Yaz BCP's.

During this entire time, I have been bleeding heavily, to the point of changing pads almost hourly. The first week or two was crazy, but bearable as I thought it would be ending soon.

Now it has been 3 weeks, and I am still bleeding heavily with no signs of it lightening up. And I have been on my BCP's now for 11 days! I feel like I'm starting to go insane!

I feel miserable everyday (that could be in part to the metformin) but I also feel very shaky most of the day, and light headed. I checked my sugar, and that was normal, so I know it wasn't low.

Is this the norm to be bleeding this much? Should I call the doctor, or just let this run it's course?

Sorry if I sound so crabby...I guess I forgot what all this pms stuff was like...lol.

Thanks for reading!

It all depends on how long you went without AF. Sometimes the body has a lot of buildup and has to release it once you bring AF on. I know for me there were two separate times I bled for about three to four weeks because I went without AF for almost a year each time. The bcps may only make it worse because of the fake horomones.

Give your doc a call and just let him or her know whats been going on. Be just as detailed with them as you have been with us and they will let you know what do next. Other than that get some rest.

I am in the same exact boat, I have been bleeding for 3 weeks and AF was provera induced, I have been on the pill for 2 weeks now and still changing pads waaaaaaaaay too often. I still have cramps and everything. IT SUCKS...as for the shaking and light headedness that sounds like classic MET side effects. I was on regular MET and I had terrible side effects, so I went to the XR (slow release) and it made a huge difference. GOOD LUCK...hopefully we both get some relief soon from AF!! What sucks is I have one week of white pills left then i'm supposed to get AF again and I'M STILL BLEEDING FROM THE LAST ONE!!!

Just curious why the provera followed by BCPs? What's that's supposed to do?

also you might ask doc if you need an iron supplement if you're bleeding that long/much/often. you don't want to get anemic. it is not fun.

When I took it to bring on my period a couple yrs back the bleeding was awful, and extremely heavy. My Dr. warned me that it would be a heavy cycle! He wasn't kidding. Every hr on the hr I had to change or I would go through, even at night. I think it would last a week, if you are still bleeding though, I would go in to get checked just to be on the safe side. I hope everything is ok.
