hi i'm not really a thin cyster (5 ft 2 121 lbs) and i think that i could lose a few pounds i know that they say the thinner you are the harder it is to conceive . so i want to know if i should work out and try to lose the extra weight or if i should just stay as i am
Hey there! I am pretty much the same as you! I used to work out 5 days a week but have since cut back to 3 or 4 days. I run every other day for about 30 minutes on the treadmill and do strength resistance. I am starting to be more careful about the food I eat, being more aware of carbs and sugars. I think the MOST important thing is to be as healthy as possible and that's why I do it! I want to be as healthy as I can be for my baby when I conceive. So I try to change my reference and think more about being healthy rather than about being any thinner than I am. You are in a very normal range for your BMI! So I wouldn't try to loose that much weight! But I know how hard it is the shorter you are...even gaining 5 pounds seems huge!!

My doc said that having an exercise reigment is really good for you. But to not hinder your chances of conception you should be able to sing happy birthday while exercising. So no hard core working out.

I have never heard that the skinnier you are the harder it is to conceive.
My dr told me to get back to my weight before I got pregnant before we TTC again. I'm 125 now and I'm 5 ft even. I am very petite and he doesn't want me to be unhealthy when I do get pregnant. He told me that 105 is a healthy weight for me. I was 105 when I conceived. We weren't trying but we weren't preventing either. I had been off the pill for 4 months when we conceived.
GL!

When I recently told my OB that I wanted to lose 10-15 lbs. ( I am 5'10" and 150 lbs the heaviest I have ever been) He told me that if my BMI fell under 17% it would hurt my chances of successful ovulation. Try to keep your BMI above 17 but under 25 and you should be fine. I can spare a couple of percent points but don't want to take it too far.
My RE told me to stop working out and to gain weight. When I started seeing her I was 5'5'' and 128. Has anyone else heard that from their OB or RE? She said that increasing my body fat will increase your estrogen levels and also help my chances to get prego. I'm willing to do whatever, but it's hard not exercising! I've only been walking my dog and just started yoga last week to do stretching--at least it's a little stress relief We've only done one round of injections and an IUI--BFN, and am just about to start the second round. I'd love to hear what you've heard about exercise and getting prego with PCOS!
I have 2 kids with no fertility medication. I was told it's much easier on the body to get pregnant at a normal weight. If your over weight, it's much harder on the body as a prego. LOL misread the weight, my eyes. You're fine. I thought it said 2,121 LOL. You're fine.

Your BMI isn't really relevant, its the Body Fat Percentage that matters. The chances of getting your BF% to a Low Percentage without a Strict Diet, and Exercising Religiously are very slim.
Instead of doing so much cardio/aerobics, you should do some strength training. Squats in particular because increasing the bloodflow to the pelvic area may help your PCOS.
