    Question Cost of Vaniqa?

    Howdy all,

I just got a prescription for Vaniqa and wanted to get some idea of what it cost. I saw some old posts that said it cost about $50 for a tube and the tube lasts about 1-1.5 months? I just wanted to know if that was still about what it cost or if it's gone up. Also, has anyone had any luck at all with insurance covering it, even partially? I seem to have good insurance with my parents, and I hate to have my parents spend so much money on this. (Still, I know my mom will make me get it anyways. She wants me dating, and she thinks this is the key. )

    Thanks!

I got it for $50. My cousin was going to get it but when she went to fill her rx she found out she'd have to pay $92 for the same amount. I'd check with your insurance to see if they cover it. Sometimes they have a max that you pay out of pocket for rx.

I paid $80 for it. I've used almost the whole tube with no results, non what-so-ever. I'm dissapointed. Hopefully it'll work for you!

Justred...How long have you been using it? The literature said it might start working within 4 weeks, but my doctor and several other sources said it could take up to 3 months. (Something about your face has a 3-month supply of hair "programmed", so if you start it and only go two months, you might not see an effect.) It's possible to see something before that, but I've been told that some people won't see it until 3 months. Of course, some people don't respond to certain treatments, but I'm going to at least give it the 3 months. The insert said that after six months it's probably not working, and to talk to your doctor again.

Sorry it cost so much for you! Quite the pain, eh?

    Hi,

I got a prescription back awhile ago for Vaniqua and mine costed $40.00. That was my co-pay from my insurance. I don't want to try to depress you over this but I did not have any luck with Vaniqua. My facial hair never got any lighter. But everyone is different so maybe it will work for you.

Geez! That's no fun. Sorry it ended up not working for you. Hopefully you'll be able to find something else to work for you.

Default Vaniqa--hair in the wrong place

Vaniqa was not covered by my insurance when I tried to get it several years ago. However, somewhere on this site I saw a suggestion to use the Jergens shave minimizer lotion. Besides being a very good lotion, it works! And, it worked quickly....within 3-4 weeks, I noticed enough change to comfort me. And, it's under $5 a bottle.

I just got my Vaniqa and it also cost me $55. Insurance didn't cover it, unfortunately. Hopefully it works though. I use the Jergens Shave minimizer lotion on my legs and I think it works. I guess I should have tried it on my face before I spent all that money on the Vaniqa!
