Default How long after D&C for HcG levels to go down to zero?

    I had a D&C on May 12.

My BW this morning showed HCG of 268.

    Last week was 300 something

Week before was 700-something. That was 10 days after the procedure and with a 24 hr half life I was really expecting zero or a really small number.

    ???

So sorry for your loss sweetie, I don't know. I m/c at 3 weeks... but I didn't have a D&C... it took a week for my level to go back to normal.

{{{{HUGS}}}} I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm under the impression that the numbers go down approximately 1/2 every week. That might be wrong though, but it's what I have in my head right now. Of course, everyone's experience varies, but I do believe that's the average. When I had my d&e, my levels were only about 290 and it took 4 weeks for my levels to get to zero.

Hope they get to zero for you soon.

This forum doesn't allow links for new members, but here is the information taken from a medical study into hcg levels after miscarriage:

Study name: Human chorionic gonadotropin in maternal plasma after induced abortion, spontaneous abortion, and removed ectopic pregnancy

This study shows the typical amount of time it takes HCG levels to drop back down to non-pregnant levels.

    With expectant management (natural miscarriage):
generally 9 to 35 days with 19 days being the median

    With surgical management (D&C):
generally 16 to 60 days with the median being about 30 days

    With an ectopic:
generally 1 to 31 days with removal of tube

    Best wishes to you all.
