Default Does anyone get sores inside their ear canals?

This is about the fifth time I've felt something going on in my ear canal. It feels like acne, but I don't know if you can get acne inside your ear.

It took about two days and I could feel it coming up (kinda painful). Now I can feel a raised bump on the bottom part of my ear canal. It doesn't hurt as much now, but it's still there and it's irritating. It makes me want to pick at it, but I've resisted the urge so far.

Should I try peroxide? I'm living in a dorm right now and I don't exactly have the privacy to irrigate my ear or anything.

    Mustangsally,

Yes, I get these, and I do think they are acne bumps. I also get them in my scalp and on my neck. I think we must have oil glands everywhere.

I have actually had quite a few bumps in my ears, and they do hurt. I try to clean it with peroxide on a q-tip, and then put a little acne gel on it. I don't think it will hurt if you don't put a big bunch way down your ear. It usually takes several days for mine to clear up.

Isn't it strange to get a zit in your ear? I am glad I am not the only one.. ; )

I figured it was acne since I seem to have it everywhere else too. My scalp, my neck, my back, my chest. Summertime is the worst because it's hot and we sweat more so that means more oil.

It's nice to know I'm not alone, though.

Ditto girls! For a while there, I only broke out inside my ear and just inside my nose. I was a freak of nature! I Thank God that that had passed!

I would say that it is a zit and if you can just use a q-tip to pop it should be ok. If you can I would say that you might want to call the DR and see what he says. The problem it that anything that you put in your ear can cause damage. The ear is one of those parts of the body that is better delt with by a DR and not by us. There is too much stuff in there that you can hurt.

I've had them since I was a teenager. It's a zit and I just use my finger to pop it. Sometimes you have to rub it a little to help speed things along (TMI) but you will need to pop it to get it to go away. It will hurt, burn, and sting but grin and bear it. I've tried to wait and see if it would go away and it was swollen and plugging up my ear canal.

If you've ever had a zit on your "kitty", it's that degree of hurt.

You can get acne in your ears, I haven't but I do seem to get very dry itchy ears esp in the ear canal and for the past couple of years it gets cut probably where I try and scratch it...
