Default 7 months and stomach tighten?

    Hello ladies -

I am sure this is normal but would just like some feedback from others who have been there. I am about 3 days shy of 7 months and when I do a lot of walking I get a tighten in my tummy area - doesn`t hurt and doesn`t last for long. Just wondering what it is and if any of you have had it?

    TIA

It definitely sounds like Braxton Hicks. and it is not too early, you can get them at 20 weeks or so even. (I did)
Drink plenty of water and take a bit of rest, or simply change position (instead of walking sit down for a moment)
    That usually stops them.
they call them practice contractions, but they usually don't hurt.

    Hope that helps.

Just how far along do you think you have to be before you get braxton-hicks?

You can get them as early as 12 weeks. It's most common for women to start noticing them around 20 weeks.

    Hi Michelle!!!!

I used to get that when dh and I would go for walks. Keyword here is "used to". LOL I just thought because I was getting a little exercise that my stomach was tightening up. Silly me. Bet they were BH.

However, since I haven't been walking I haven't had anything that is remotely close to a contraction. I wonder if there are people out that just don't get them until labor time.

I hope all is well with you and the little munchkin.

I don't know just was thinking I shouldn't get them until closer until my due date - naive thinking I guess! LOL

I asked my doctor about them today and as long as you don't get four an hour, no worries. She said drink some extra water though.
