Default swollen lymph node in armpit...

Okay...so I have a question. I have had swollen lymph nodes in my neck before but now I have a swollen lymph node in my armpit and it hurts! For a while it really hurt to shave or even touch it...and now I can touch it but the back of my arm hurts b/c of it. If I push in on the lymph node then pain shoots the back of my arm...only the top of my arm though. Sorry this is kind of complex...but I just wondered if anyone else has this problem! Thanks!

every once in a while I willl get a swollen lymph node in my armpit but they go away. I worry about them because I am a smoker. Are you a smoker?

If it hurts like you say, I would go get it looked at.

Good luck to you. You will be in my thoughts. keep me posted.

They can be caused by allergies.
Under my arms are constantly sore and tender to the touch. They are very specific spots by the way. I was just DX with fybermyalga.

Arthritis and fyber react like an allergy.

If you try an antihistime day and night ( you may see an improvement.I use allergra for daytime and zyrtec at night.)

Now if you feel a distinct hard bump, lump, pea shape, pepple...then you need to talk to a doctor to check it out.

When the glands under my jaw swell, it is very painful to swallow. I have even had a pea sized lump that freaked me out just behind my ear. After a week, it went away.

Let me know how things go for all of it. I like to know about dif forms of swelling related to arthritis and other immune side effects.(other than man issues at this time thank you )

    Take care

I would definately get it checked out if it's been there for a while. Chances are it's nothing, but it's always best to get it looked at. Take care!

My lymphnodes in my neck are still swollen but i had thought that i had swollen under my arm. It turned out to be an extra breast. the doctor had it removed in out patient surgery. i would have it looked at. i'm glad i did. They may biopsy my neck but right now, i'm just trying to get used to this PCOS thing.

    Thumbs up

As time progressed, I started to get more symptoms; when the swelling would flare up (some days are better than others) I would get cold-like symptoms but without the infection. It was almost like having a cold for 2 months!

I missed so much work these past 2 years that I don't know what to do. All of my blood work (even the multiple tests for mono and other major stuff) came back negative. I even went to an Infectious Disease specialist, all his bloodwork came back fine, too. I was told by one doctor "Maybe it's Chronic Fatigue Syndrome" even though I'm negative for Epstein-Barr Virus and other doctors say absolutely not. One doctor said to get my tonsils out but all of the others disagree with him. It's frustrating!! So, I just decided to live with it. It really stinks.

    Okay, ending rant. LOL
Oh yeah! i went thru that too. nobody can tell me why my neck is still swollen after 3 years. i have seen every specialist up and down the block! Every doctor i turned to just shuttled me over to someone else. I thought i was crazy but they all agree i have something but they have no idea what it is. At last i found someone who knows how i feel

I use to get them when I was pregnant with no other sypmtoms in 2005 and 2006. I was diagnosed with pcos in November of 2008, adenomyosis/endometriosis and a retroverted uterus in January 2009. My doctor today said it could be an infection in my body that I don't know about or a cold I may get soon. She said to give it 5-7 days. If it is not gone by then I need to come back and find the cause...

I have something similar to this going on. Actually I've been dealing with it for about 6 months now. Occasionally I get a lump in my throat, like...a physical swelling on the left side of my throat. It's not so big you can see it, but you can certainly feel it! At first my doctor thought it was my thyroid, so I had my TSH level tested and it came back normal. Then he thought allergies, so I've been on meds for that for almost a week now, and it still seems to flare up. Maybe this is a PCOS thing? It tends to come with bouts of feeling light-headed and dizzy. Or, maybe I just feel it and stress myself so much I feel that way! Dunno! All I know is doctors so far can't provide answers. It doesn't hurt at all, it just scares me. I would go see an ENT doc but no insurance, little options.
