I tossed my scale months ago. I started walking daily a few weeks back and I am judging the success of my program by how my clothes fit and how I feel. So far so good!

Thank god for this article lol! I lost weight and I was so proud because everyone has noticed and complemented me on it then I got on the scale this morning and I was back up 5 pounds -_- lol I thought I had failed some where but I just got off my time so I think I need to drink some water and clear out retention.

This article really helped me. I am extremely guilty of weighing myself multiple times during the day. It's horrible. I feel like the scale is attached to me. I would probably end up losing more weight if I would stop obsessing and weighing myself 10 times a day. Great article.

I avoid the scale, but I have one right next to my shower. I try to weigh myself as infrequently as possible because it does get me down.

But it's also really good to know these details about water retention, especially what Kat said about doing leg workouts. It makes a lot more sense now.
As my mom always told me: "It's not the end of the world."

Thanks for posting this. I am terrible about continually weighing myself and then freaking out about the differences in numbers. Explained a lot and makes me feel a bit better.

Thanks for the reminder that the scale is not everything (or much of anything).

Thank you for this, I'm just going to retire that scale and just eat right and exercise. Because I drive myself crazy everytime I get on the scales.

I'm one of those who is guilty of weighing myself at least twice a day. I even bought a fancy digital scale to do it on and it weighs five pounds heavier than my analog one so I'm sending it back! Thank you for the reminders to keep our heads when we're on the scale.
